1.0 Purpose:
This Procedure is intended to provide guidance and instructions for carrying out the
procedure for charging and synchronizing of generator.
2.0 Responsibility:
a) All the personnel involved in carrying out /supervising the above activities are
required to ensure implementation of this procedure.
b) In the event of any changes required in the procedure such changes may be
requested with Site Incharge, who would take appropriate action with approval
from respective departmental heads.
3.0 SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES/ CHECKS:
1. Work area should be clean & no oil, grease splitting should be there.
2. Safety signs should be marked wherever required.
3. Readiness of fire fighting equipments.
4. Ensure no oil leak at bearings area.
5. All GRP relays are reset. ( 186AI/286A1/186A2/286A2/186B/286B/186C/286C)
6. ALL H 2 Coolers are charged and H2 purity is > 98%.
7. GCB DC power supply is normalized
8. GCB earth switch is open
9. Generator Bus duct Pressurization system is in service & flow < 45 cu mtr
10. Flow of Water through stator winding > 80 M3/hr
11. Stator water Conductivity in main ckt = 2.0, Regen Ckt < 1.2 ms/cm start > 2.5
stop.
12. Stator cooling H2 gas rated pressure is 5 kg/cm2. (For better DP control, after
synchronization pressure should be made 3.5 ksc).
