Hello Everyone! I am so excited about this school year. I hope you
all had a restful and relaxing summer! I went on many adventures
this summer. I visited Alaska AND Hawaii! While in Alaska, I went to
Denali National Park and saw lots of awesome wildlife, such as bears,
caribu, foxes, and even moose! I also ventured up to a town called
Coldfoot, which is located above the Arctic Circle! It was about 75
degrees when I was there. Hawaii was beautiful. I rode along the Road
to Hana and saw some fantastic vegitation. One day while snorkeling,
I swam with a sea turtle! One of the last days there, I took a trip to see
Pearl Harbor. That was pretty cool to see. I cannot wait for the year
ahead of us!

Greetings! I am looking forward to a year filled with learning! I
hope everyone had an adventurous summer. When I wasnt spending my time reading or playing with my cat, Ana, I was in Europe. I
took a month long vacation to explore London, Paris, and Barcelona,
and Rome. It was quite a fantastic trip. I will be showing pictures
throughout the year!
This year we are going to be reading some of my favorite novels. I
want to know what some of your favorite novels are! I love discovering new books and revisiting old favorites. Who knows, I might use
your suggestion in my classroom next year!
One of my favorite shows is Doctor Who. I like to think of my

This was quite the summer for me! I got married last October,
and this summer, my husband and I took an extended honeymoon.
We went to the Bahamas. It is a very lovely island. We stayed at the
resort Atlantis and it was awe-inspiring. I have never seen so much
exotic wildlife! If I could hop on a plane right now, I would leave
and never come back!
My husband and I dont have any human children, but we do
have a fur-baby named Star. She is a wonderful cat that I have had
since I was a teenager. She is getting pretty old, so I am trying to
convince my husband to get a kitten!
If I wasnt teaching math, I would be solving crime in New York
City. One of my favorite tv shows is Law and Order: SVU. You
might come across some word problems later in the year that have
to deal with the show!

What to expect this year:
The mission of the 7th Grade Math Course is to build a solid
foundation in mathematical skills and concepts. Students will expand on topics explored in primary grades to a depth of knowledge
just below the algebra level. Key subjects such as integers, rational
numbers, surface area & volume, statistics, and ways to display
data will be studied in an effort to understand how numerical
information explains our world. Having a solid foundation in math
knowledge and reasoning is essential in becoming proficient in
problem solving.
COURSE BREAKDOWN
All 7th Grade Math students will be subject to the following:
Completing classroom/homework assignments given at least twice a
week to practice concepts presented in class.
The completion of at least 4 projects. (content to be determined)
Satisfactory scores on periodic quizzes and tests to determine the
acquisition of the course objectives.

Social Studies
Some of you may know that teaching wasnt my first profession.
Previously, I was a news producer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I decided
to become a history teacher because I love working with middle
schoolers instead of adults. My Bachelors degree is in Journalism,
so we will be analyzing newspapers throughout history, and even
creating our own classroom newspaper about different historical
events!
If we could turn back time, to the good ole days, I would love to
meet Johannes Gutenberg, inventor of the printing press. Without
his invention, the way we would exchange information would be
incredibly slow! He helped shape the world into what is today.
I am obsessed with Starbucks. If you see me without coffee in my
hand, please feel free to ask where it is, because I probably left my
cup somewhere!
