FRACTION

Objective;

To explain word fraction with the help of daily life eg. Also
explain its parts numirators & denominators.
To represent different pictorial diagram in the form of fraction.
To differentiate between like & unlike fractions.
To explain Addition 7 subtraction of unlike fractions.

Material Aid:
White board, worksheet ,book.
Teaching method:
DAY 1;
Introduction:
By showing 2 ,3 apples ask then what are the numeral use for it.
Then divide the appleinto two equal parts & ask them how to
represent it in the form of numbers.i.e . Also discuss different
examples

Main Activity;
Write down different fraction on the board 1/5 ,6/8 4/9 ,5/10 ,3/7.
7 draw it on the board. Ask about 2nd 7 4th fraction why they are
different from remaining. Tell them that it is possible to reduce
these fractions.

This method is also called as simplification of fraction . explain Q1a


on the board ,. Students will solve remaining parts them selves.
Also explain term term equivalent fraction. Solve Q2a, bon the
board.
Concluding Activity:
Q2c will be done individually.
DAY2:
Introduction;
Recap of previous knowledge. Also explain conversion of improper
into proper fraction
Main activity:
Explain how to convert improper fraction into mixed no. by solving
Q3aon the board. Students will solve Q3b ,c themselves by teachers
help. Q4 based on reverse process i.e conversion of mixed no. into
improper fraction. Explain part one on the board. Students will solve
remaining parts individually.
DAY 3:
Introduction;
Recap of previous knoledgei.e simplification of fraction & conversion
of improper into mixed no.
Main Activity:
Q6 based on simplification of fraction 7 conversion of improper into
mixed no. explain one part ofv it and also solve part b ,c.
Concluding Activity:
Give them practice Quaestion to solve individually.
DAY4:
Introduction:

Revision of all previous knowledge about like term & unlike term.
Main Activity:
Explain Addition of unlike fraction the board.Solve one example on
the board. & give them task to solve Q8 a, b ,c ,d in the group.
Concluding Activity:
One practice question will be given to solve on the board to check
their understanding.
DAY5:
Introduction;
Recap of all previous knowledge.
Main Activity: Ask what we have done in addition of fraction . Use
the same method to solve subtraction of fraction . solve Q9 a on the

board with explanation . Students will s
