Sparkling Shells Cowl: Crochet

The cowl measures 6" wide and 68" in circumference. It is made using a shell stitch pattern of (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) repeated in rows until the piece measures 68" long. The short ends are then sewn together to create a cowl.

Ch 18.
Row 1 (right side): Dc in 4th ch from hook
(beginning ch counts as first dc), skip next
3 ch, shell in next ch, skip next 5 ch, shell in
next ch, skip next 3 ch, 2 dc in last ch, turn
12 dc and 2 ch-3 spaces.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and
throughout), dc in first dc, shell in each of next
2 ch-3 spaces, 2 dc in top of beginning ch,
turn.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 68 (173
cm). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
