I.I. Introduction
When tourism is at its best, its an enriching experience for the tourist
as well as its providing the host community employment, income,
preservation of heritage and other benefits. But if the site is badly
planned or managed it can be a disaster for both the visitor, the place
and the local community. (Tourism Planning: Basics, Concepts, Cases)
The Philippines is a country of 7 ,107 islands with 98.39 million
habitants as of 2013, located in the South East Asia. The country
suffers from poverty and severe environmental problems like air- and
water
pollution
caused
by
natural
disasters,
pesticides
and
deforestation. Many of the hazards that the country is affected by are
natural in origin and there are fears that these will be intensified
through climate change. The Philippines has experienced tropical
cyclones, earthquakes, droughts and flooding, volcanic eruptions,
tsunamis, El Nio and La Nia episodes. There has been loss of human
lives, homes and livelihoods, which has resulted in great economic
disaster. (Climate Change Research (ERDB-DENR) (2007))
I.II. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The economic benefit from tourism is therefore not as high as in
nearby countries even though the potential of tourism is just as big.
Apart from the Filipinos the most frequent visitors are from Korea,

Japan and the United States. The most famous destination is the
approximately seven kilometers long island of Boracay with its
beautiful beaches, interesting marine life and more than 300 hotels.
Unfortunately, the impact of the industry on the island has resulted in
environmental problems. This is due to the many visitors, the lack of
planning measures and the lack of a sustainable design.
(Interview statement of Mr. F. Agerhem, Swedish Embassy, Manila;
2007-06-04).
Aside from this, Another problem with Philippine tourism is that the
country has a bad reputation worldwide because of crimes. Crime
rates typically increase with the growth and urbanization of an area
Growth of mass tourisms often accompanied by increased crime.
The government is now working to expand the tourism industry and
has therefore made large Investments (with help of international
interests) in the countrys infrastructure. There are many critics that
warn for the environmental issues of an expansion and request a more
sustainable way of constructing new paradises. Fortunately, the
awareness is greater than in the 70th, when Boracay became reality
but the tourism expansion has to be better controlled and planned to
be successful in the future.

I.III. Statement of the Problem
This research aims to study the principles and standard for the
preparation of planning a Resort.
Specifically, it aims to answer the following problems:
1. The increase in demand of hotel accommodations due to the
influx of local and foreign tourists. As the country tourism
improved
on
this
last
year
pressure
on
lack
of
accommodations is rising.
2. Due to the many visitors, the lack of planning measures and the
lack of a sustainable design.
3. The Crime rates typically increase with the growth and
urbanization of an area Growth of mass tourisms often
accompanied by increased crime.
4. Unemployment in the philippines is high.
I.IV. Project Objectives
General objective in this study was to design a sustainable tourist
resort, with a proposal that gives space for, and actively encourages to
an environmental behaviour among guests and employees.
Specific Objectives and Principles
To develop new methods to reduce environmental impact with a
concept for a relaxing, attractive with a design that contributes to
environmental behaviour

The design will have a nature oriented approach.
Design for activity as well as relaxation and recreation in balance
with nature.
Inspired Conservation resort
To generate employee
To encourage other sector in building and constructing an ecofriendly building
To add revenues in the Philippines and help the site in leading
sustainable development
To help increase tourism and economic rate of the country
I.V. Significance of the Study
This study is for us to adopt an increasingly common trend among
water treatment system and to resuce the operating cost. It will also
provide more than the basic needs of the people in terms of
recreational activity. It will provide more than the basic needs of the
people in terms of recreational activity while promoting a green
environment.
This is significant for the others to respect the natural resources and
environment and be an example of sustainable design and to be able

to promote innovation in architecture, new materials and saving
strategy
With this study it might be an example to other people and sector to
spread the conservation awareness in promoting sustainable country.
