Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Respected guest of honour, honourable principal, teachers parents

and my fellow beingsAssalam-o-alaikum.
On this day, we are gathered here to pay our hearty gratitude to our
national poet Allama Iqbal. We are thankful to him on giving the idea
of this homeland for us. He was born on November 9, 1877, at
Sialkot, Punjab. He studied in Murray College Sialkot and then
Government College Lahore. He was an intelligent and hard working
student and won gold medal in Government College Lahore.
Respected guests, Allama Iqbal studied in worlds famous
universities University of Cambridge UK and Munich University
Germany. He did practice as lawyer. He was a great poet,
philosopher and Islamist politician in British India. He wrote his
works in Persian and Urdu. He is best known for his poetic works,
including Asrar-e-Khudifor which he was knighted. Rumuz-eBekhudi, and the Bang-e-Dara are his other famous books.
My fellow beings, Allama Iqbal loved children and wanted us to be
knowledgeful scholars and good muslims. He wrote many poems for
children which are the source of light for us. One of his famous poem
is Bachay ki Dua. Iqbal speaks as child in this poem. He represents
me and you how beautiful sayings these are!
Lab pay aati hay dua ban kay tamanna meri
Zindagi shama ki surat ho khudaya meri
Door dunya ka mere dam say andhaira ho jaye
Har jaga mere chamaknay say ujala ho jaye
Allama Iqbal is childs poet, youngs poet, elders poet, the poet of
every muslim and no doubt the poet of every age.
He was very active for Muslims rights. He gave the idea of new
homeland for the muslims of sub-continent in 1930. You know,
hindus and muslims lived together before the creation of Pakistan.
Pakistan where now we are sitting and enjoying the freedom, is the
Idea of Iqbal. Thats why he is called as Muffakir-e-Pakistan means
"The Thinker of Pakistan". He is our national poet. He died in 1938
and his tomb is near Badshahi Mosque Lahore. May his soul rest in
peace.

I will finish my speech with this pray which our national poet did for
me and for every child.
Ho meray dam say yunhi mere watan ki zeenat
Jis tarah phool say hoti hay chaman ki zeenat.
Thank you.
