As Days
Hello Parents,
Our purpose at MVCA is to partner with parents to provide a
Christ centered quality education for your child and we were
thrilled with the high percentage of you that attended the parentteacher conferences last Friday. Mr. Onsager commented that was
the most parents he had ever visited with at a conference. This investment in your children and their teachers will grow fruit for years
to come.
Because the upper school is covered by four teachers, it was difficult to schedule individual conferences. We decided to combine
the upper school staff to meet with parents and they worked
straight through the day with no lunch break from 8:00 to 4:00 and
still didn't catch all the parents that wanted to meet. If you still need
to meet with staff, (lower or upper school) please contact the office
and we will set up a time to meet.
Our intention during this first conference was to build relationship,
be proactive in helping your child succeed and helping us understand your child better. Please see this as a beginning and not the
last time you visit with your teachers. Ongoing conversation will
lead to better understanding and positive learning so thanks for
continuing this dialogue. We want to communicate well with you so
please let us know if there are ways we can improve.
Have a great week and thanks for making this school community a
great place to work and learn!
Blessings,
Christian Bumgarner

Students in the High School science class made parachutes to demonstrate air resistance.

The chutes created for this project were launched from a standard height atop of the jungle

gym, and the time to landing

was recorded. The best functioning parachutes had a long, gentle descent, and
Dayton Conrad won 1st place, Lane Smyth 2nd, and
Gatlin Schiele 3rd. Best design was awarded to Kinsey Brookman's parachute nicknamed 'Sweet
Pea'. Gatlin Schiele was voted 2nd in design and
Jayde Conrad 3rd. Anyone ready for skydiving?
Upper School Chapel~
We were blessed to have Officer Levi Reed come and speak at Mondays
chapel. He challenged the students to live boldly for Christ, to not hide
their Christianity but live it and share it with others. He shared stories of
growing up in a Christian home and being given Bible verse to memorize and live by. Going
to a Christian school as a young boy he wished
that he had been more concerned about living for Christ then impressing his peers. Austin got to experience what a bullet proof vest
feels like! Thank you Mr. Reed for blessing MVCA with your wisdom.
