According to Section 411.4.1.1 of National Structural Code of the Phil 2010
411.4.1.1 For members subject to shear and flexure only:

=0.85

for normal-weight concrete.


for sand light-weight concrete

For shear, the reduction factor is equal to 0.75. (In 2001, the reduction factor is
equal to 0.85)
