Production Brief

Purpose of the Unit


The purpose of this unit is to create a 2 minute opening sequence to a potential film. It
must have the convention of the chosen genre that is portrayed through each aspect of
the production, also include the codes. The 2 minute sequence will be then posted on
YouTube. This 2 minute clip will be shown in room F19 to a group of A-level media
students.
We also have to do preliminary task. We have to do this so that we are able to practice
the skills which are needed to do our main task which to create a 2 minute opening
sequence to a horror film.

Production Name
The name of our production is Venom Production this is going to be displayed at the
beginning of the video. We have picked this production name because venom is very a
dangerous and harmful substance. It mostly relates to danger/death. This relates to our
storyline as it also relates to danger/death.

Brief Overview
John wake up in the middle of a street and he finds himself lost and confused. He doesnt
remember how he got there but slowly he gets flash backs and slowly remembers how he
ended up on the street. John was wondering around he finds this old building which he
ends up entering. When he entered this building he sees there is no one there. As he
about to leave he sees this psychopath wearing a scary mask that want to kill john. There
is no way out other than to fight this group of psychopaths. He fights his way out with an
injury on his head which causes him to pass out. After he remembers everything hr tries
to get up. As hes getting up he sees the group of psychopaths that wanted to kill him,
but this time there is no escape. The clip ends on a cliff hanger.

Length/Deadline
The length of the opening sequence will be two minutes long.
The deadline for our production is on January
