A free-flowing fast setting grout, for
embedding discrete anodes
Description
EMACO CP 15 GROUT powder is a blend of hydraulic
cements, selected silica, modifying agents and special
additives for pH buffering. When mixed with potable
water, EMACO CP 15 GROUT forms a fast-setting grout
with extraordinary flow characteristics.
Applications
EMACO CP 15 GROUT is used for embedding discrete
anodes used in impressed current Cathodic Protection.
EMACO CP 15 GROUT is especially developed for
optimum life expectancy of these CP installations.

Packaging
EMACO CP 15 GROUT is supplied in 5kg pails.
Application procedure
Surface preparation:
Loose particles in the voids should be removed as good as
possible. Slightly dampen the substrate if possible and
remove free standing water.

Approximately 1.05 litres of water / 5kg powder is
necessary in order to obtain a free flowing consistency.
The liquid demand can change depending on the required
consistency but should be kept between the limits of 0.75
(15%) to 1.25 (25%) litres clean water / 5 kg powder.
Notes:
The water content will affect the flow-characteristics. A
relatively fluid mortar is obtained with 0.95 litres of water to
5kg powder.
To control set time it is advised to use warm water in cold
environments and cold water in warm conditions.
EMACO CP 15 GROUT may be mixed either mechanically
or manually. Gradually blend the powder into clean water.
Mix until lump free consistency is obtained. Do not
overmix.
Application:
Do not apply EMACO CP 15 GROUT to frozen substrates
or if the ambient temperature is below 5C within 4 hours.
All holes can simply be filled with the material. To assist
complete filling of those holes, it may be necessary to
move the anodes up and down, in order to release any
entrapped air.
Curing:
EMACO CP 15 GROUT is self-curing. In hot, dry or windy
environments it can be necessary to cover the material
with some wet cloths after the initial set.
Clean up and spillages:
Before hardening material may simply be removed with
water.

Storage

EMACO CP 15 GROUT should be stored under cover,
clear of the ground and stacked not more than 6 pails or 2
pails high. Protect the materials from all sources of
moisture and frost. Rotate stock in order not to exceed
the shelf life of 6 months.
Precautions
The temperature of both the grout and elements coming
into contact with the grout should be in the range of +5C
to +35C. Do not use water in an amount or at a
temperature that will produce a consistency more than
fluid or cause mixed grout to bleed or segregate.
DO NOT OVERWORK AND AVOID USING
MECHANICAL VIBRATION.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD
EMACO CP 15 GROUT BE RETEMPERED BY THE
LATER ADDITION OF WATER.
It is essential that a mechanically powered grout mixer is
used to obtain the optimum properties.
Yield / consumption
With 1.05 litres water addition 5kg of powder will yield
approx. 2.8 litres of grout.
Warning
EMACO CP 15 GROUT is based on cement and can be
irritating to the skin and eyes. Gloves and eye protection
should be worn. The use of dust masks is recommended.
Accidental splashes of the material to the skin or eyes
should be washed off immediately with clean water.
In the event of prolonged irritation seek medical advice.
In the case of ingestion give water or milk to drink and
treat symptomatically. Medical advice should be sought.
