The CCAS uses three visual devices - MASTER WARNING and MASTER CAUTION lights, CREW ALERTING PANEL (CAP) lights, and LOCAL ALERT lights - to draw a crew's attention when failures are detected and guide them to the affected system. When an ACW Generator 1 failure is detected for example, the CCAS first illuminates the flashing MASTER CAUTION light and sounds a single chime, then lights the ELEC light on the CAP to identify the system, and finally alerts locally with a fault light on the ACW gen 1 push-button to isolate the specific failure.
