ACTION PLAN
To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

I have shown thorough to advanced development in the following Professional Competencies developed
during this field experience:
During the Third Field Experience, I believe Professional Competency #1 was thoroughly developed. In the class, I
was able to form many connections and relationships with my students while sustaining an authoritative presence. In
addition, I implemented many lesson plans that centered around different cultures in an appropriate manner.
I as well showed an advanced understanding towards Professional Competency #2. On a daily basis, I made sure I
remained professional by the way I communicated with the students and teachers, and how I presented myself.
Competency 9 was thoroughly developed. Over the course of the three weeks, I formed many positive relationships
with the school staff, teachers and principal. I as well enjoyed becoming involved in the schools community. By
participating in school assemblies, volunteering to watch the students play at recess and attending lunch programs,
allowed me to personally experience a part of the schools community.
I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
experience
The Professional Competencies that I wish to improve on are Competencies 6, 8, and 7. Managing a classroom can be very
challenging. Therefore, in the future, I hope to research and find other strategies that can induce a smooth running classroom
that fosters a warm, positive atmosphere (Comp 6). In addition, I would like to improve on how I use technology in the
classroom. Although Im aware with how the Smart Board functions, I want to implement other technological resources in
the classroom. For instance, in the future, I want my class to work on a project that centers on a form of technology (such as:
videography, photography, etc.) (Comp 8). In regards to Competency 7, I am still trying to adapt my teaching methods to
students who have learning disabilities. I need to keep researching ways on how I can adapt or modify my lessons in order
for it to be beneficial for the students.
I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:
To improve my teacher identity, there are numerous strategies I can follow.
Communicate with child care workers, resource technicians, and teachers to seek advice and recommendations.
Continue to reflect on my teacher identity and the strategies/methods/techniques I implement in the classroom.
Attend workshops and conferences that are centered around Education.
Restate the rules and instructions to the students so the class activity can run smoothly.
Research different technology projects that have been used in different classrooms.
Remain in contact with the teachers Ive met during FE3.
