BIOGRAPHY
April 2, 1962
Born: Biloxi, Mississippi
Randy Ford is a realist painter specializing in urban subject and Americana. Randy seeks to preserve the
constantly evolving American landscape through paint, capturing both object and time on canvas. Randy
works in all method and manner of realistic style, from figurative to hyper-realistic. Preferred medium is oil
on canvas with early works painted in acrylic. Early works are distinguished by zero texture, heavily
gessoed surfaces with no apparent brush work. Recent works feature conventional woven surfaces with
multiple washes and glazings. A constant in all of his work has been fidelity to detail and accuracy of
drawing always keeping in perspective the viewers expectation of reality.
