The game ended in a draw after 73 moves. White played the French Defense opening as black. The game progressed with standard opening moves until the midgame when minor piece exchanges began to occur. In the endgame, both sides' kings and remaining minor pieces battled it out until the position was reached where no further progress could be made and a draw was agreed.
