APPENDIX A
FLIPPED CLASSROOM DESIGN
On this study, students will be asked to participate in this study by either
being in the control group (traditional teaching methods occur) or by implementing
the flipped instruction (treatment group). The flipped classroom will flip the
classroom by allowing students to complete classwork at home via teacher made
videos, YouTube videos, or any other media which contain the content to be learned
by students (all media will be provided by the researcher) and return to the next class
period to further discuss these concepts, complete homework, or extend learning
through further investigation or application problems.
The study will be implemented on the third quarter of the school year 20162017 which covers topics about living things and their environment. Data will be
collected at the beginning and the end of the study and will involve a students
pretest and a students posttest.
The data collected will be used to addresses students deficiencies in Grade
10 science students and investigate whether this alternative curriculum will impact on
student critical thinking skills in the secondary science classroom. Participants will be
presented with informed consent information prior to participating.
