Proxy

There are two main types of proxies - transparent and reverse. A transparent proxy intercepts and forwards web traffic without clients' knowledge, while a reverse proxy acts as a gateway and appears to outside users as the origin server. Bluecoat can be used to configure both types of proxies, with transparent proxies intercepting traffic and reverse proxies receiving requests and forwarding them to destination servers.
