HW 1

This document provides the 15 minute kW demand data for 4 customers served by a single-phase 25 kVA transformer between 5 PM and 9 PM. It asks the reader to analyze the data for each customer and the transformer, including determining maximum and average demands, total kWh usage, and load factors for each customer, as well as maximum diversified and noncoincident demands, utilization factor, diversity factor, and load diversity for the transformer. It also asks the reader to plot the load duration curve for the transformer.

Problems
2.1 Shown in the following table are the 15min kW demands for four cus-
tomers between the hours of 17:00 and 21:00. A 25kVA single-phase
transformer serves the four customers.

a. For each of the customers determine the following:

1. Maximum 15min kW demand
2. Average 15min kW demand
3. Total kWh usage in the time period
4. Load factor
b. For the 25kVA transformer determine the following:
1. Maximum 15min diversified demand
2. Maximum 15min noncoincident demand
3. Utilization factor (assume unity power factor)
4. Diversity factor
5. Load diversity
c. Plot the load duration curve for the transformer.
