Similar plan of training to be covered in the three plants (NDA, ethoxylate and
amine) except NDA plant has commission and startup procedure which mainly
includes:

familiarized the plants in terms of their process (PFD, P&ID, etc)

Knowing the product quality specifications

Plants capacities and limitations

Going through product handling unit (PHU)

Simulation competency

Involved in the team simulating LAO-OP process using Aspen HYSYS

Started obtaining solutions of nonexistent components of the NDA plant at


Aspen Plus and apply it into the process

Engagement to CSU team responsibilities

At this stage, a huge exposure to technical and practical issues have been gained
through the enrollment to CSU team of NDA plant and therefore several tasks have
been done either in person or with a team. Summary of the primary achievements
are highlighted below:

Review of commissioning and SOP procedures

Function test activities and redesign of interlocks

Operation activities during commissioning stage such as unloading of fatty


alcohol

Hydrogen by-pass study

Review and redesign of sampling points

Re-checking design of condensate system

Review of safe location of rapture and PSV outlet

PSSR and review of Quality Verification documents (QVD)


Reviewing process parameters and modification of pressure and temperature
settings of the process

Monitoring of process parameters and utility consumption

Calculation of nutrients addition to make sure proper feeding for bacteria


growth in waste water package

Calculation of air pollutant to ensure meeting RC regulation for air emission

Monitoring the quality of chemical cleaning for process piping and boiler
package

Involved in the vacuum startup and studied its methodology

Produced a production report

Prepared letters for E&PM for issues related to the plant

Others

Supported TM & SBU for utility consumption for NDA, ETHOX and EOA plants

Contributed in three TSRs (SK and Ibn Rushd)

Presented NDA process to SBU at exchange meeting with SK

Involved in LAO documentations

Presented polyurethane technologies to the department

Represented other members of the department
