The student conducted a tutorial teaching math, chemistry, and physics to students in grades 8-10 at Claro M. Recto High School. On the first day, the student taught trigonometry from 7am to 12nn and found it challenging to keep some students engaged. The experience reinforced that teaching requires waking up early, patiently instructing students until they understand, and having a passion for sharing knowledge despite the challenges.

We conducted our 2nd outreach in Claro M. Recto High School.

In this outreach, we conducted a tutorial for

Grade 8-10 students to teach Math, Chemistry, and Physics. On our first day, we taught the students
Trigonometry from 7am to 12nn. At first, I was a little nervous because it is my first time to become a
student teacher. But when I already started the class, most of the students were very cooperative and they
are really listening to what I am teaching. They even asked me some questions and asked me to repeat
some lessons they dont understand before. I gave them seatwork to evaluate if they really understood
everything I taught them. I also faced some problems like some students are not listening, or some
students dont even want to recite especially when I was assigned to teach in section 6. In this outreach, I
realized that it is really challenging to become a teacher. It takes a lot of effort starting from waking up
early in the morning, then meeting them at school, asking them to keep quiet, checking their papers, and
patiently teaching them until all of them understand the lesson Ive taught. Mrs. Arpelleda, their
trigonometry teacher was also nice to me and always giving me tips on how to handle the students, and
what topics to teach them. This outreach really tested my patience and punctuality. This activity made me
realize that being a teacher, you really must have a passion and you really love what you are doing even
though your salary is not that high, what is important is that you were able to share your knowledge and
with that, you can touch other lives.
