Early Life
Have you ever known about someone, but you dont know them? Well Taylor Swift is one of
those people who has to deal with that. She is extremely interesting and her life story is superb.
She may be famous now, but before be famous she had to be a kid. Read on to find out more
Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Her Zodiac Symbol is
Sagittarius, meaning that she was born in between November 22 - December 21. Her lucky
number is thirteen. This is because she was born on the thirteenth.
She was named after James Taylor. Her parents named her Taylor because they wanted a gender
neutral name incase her being a girl made it harder for her to get a job. Turns out with her line of
work, it didnt matter if you were a boy or a girl, you just sang.
She grew up on an 11-acre Christmas tree farm. She and her family, Scott Kingsley Swift,
Austin Swift, and Andrea Gardner Swift, are all Christians. They are Presbyterians if you want to
be specific. She also lived with her grandmother who was an opera singer named Marjorie Swift
Cady. Marjorie was a professional opera singer who was a huge inspiration for Taylor. She never
really knew her grandfather, Robert Bruce Finlay. Growing up her best friend was Abigail
Anderson.
Taylor Swift had a great many inspirations growing up, like her grandmother. Marjorie (her
grandmother) sung wonderful songs like, The Bartered Bride, The Barber of Seville, and
West Wide Story. Growing up Taylor heard music by Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and the Dixie
Chicks. It might have helped that she was growing up with someone who was a professional
opera singer and was surrounded by music all the time, all her life.
Taylor Swift loved Disney. She loved everything about them. Taylor could almost always
remember the words to the songs even after just hearing them once and watching the movie
once. If she couldnt recall the words, she would start to input her own, making it her song
basically. As a kid Disney was pretty much all the movies that she watched.
At the age of five, Taylor Swift started to really like music. At the age of ten Taylor began
singing in local events, fairs, and carnivals. At the age of eleven she got to sing at a professional
basketball game. At this game Taylor sang the Star Spangled Banner. She sang for the
Philadelphia 76ers vs the . People havent always been there for me but music has. Taylor
Swift said this because she was going through tough times with people and music made it easier
for her to cope with it. She said this because at first she had a little trouble writing songs, but at
the age of twelve Taylor Swift started writing her own songs easily. The first song that Taylor
Swift ever wrote was called, Lucky You which was inspired by a computer repairman who
taught her to play three chords on her guitar.
Maybe her extreme poetic skills complimented her song-writing skills. Taylor had always been a
poet. Fom a young age Taylor had revered great poets like Shel Silverstein, and Dr.Suess. One of
her most famous poems is titled, Monster In My Closet. It talked about a little girl who was
6
young and beautiful who was also mean and scary. She was like a monster in your closet. With
this poem she won a national reward. Taylor Swift loved to write about anything that interested
her. Maybe thats why she loved school, it brought her time to write and think deeply.
Unfortunately, this didnt do her any good when trying to make friends. What also didnt help
the situation was that country music was her favorite kind of music and it wasnt popular where
she was. Some people mocked her calling her mean names because she didnt like the same
things that they did. To try and rid herself of this torment and to salvage any dignity she had left
from her classmates, she took up soccer. She did however like watching racquetball, basketball,
and softball, although well just say that she wasnt the best at it. It was obvious that Taylor
wasnt the most athletic girl and that she didnt like soccer. She much more liked being in her
room writing songs and singing.
Even before Taylor Swift liked music, she liked horseback riding, although she did like music
more in the end. She always had loved it since the first time she was on a horse was when she
was nine months old. Her first and also her favorite horse that she rode was Ginger. She didnt
really ride the Western way because she really enjoyed the English. Taylors parents also loved
to horseback ride and they were good at it.
At the age of twelve, Taylor Swift learned to play the guitar. The first song she learned to play
on the guitar is "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer. She also learned to play the piano and
the banjo As a child Taylors family would go down and visit Nashville, which Taylor obviously
object to. When she was at Nashville she felt like she was at home. The reason she felt this is
because it was the home of country music. This had alway been her favorite kind of music and
she loved listening to all the time. She also liked going to Nashville because she could perform in
local singing events and contests and maybe even get to publish her songs. Her parents saw her
dedication to this form of music which led to her moving to Hendersonville, Tennessee at the age
of fourteen.
In two-thousand-six, Taylor Swift met someone by the name of Liz Rose. Taylor finally got a
lasting relationship with Liz. They would practice in two hour sessions every day. During these
practices, Taylor and Liz worked on writing songs. Later on when Taylor released her album
called, Taylor Swift Liz had helped co-write songs like, Tim McGraw and Teardrops on
My Guitar
At first Taylor was just writing songs for the fun of it but then she turned inward to her feelings
to write them. This was her way of filtering through the world to find the good and the bad things
in life. Singing in church helped her think of the kind of things that would get people emotionally
involved with her songs.
Well, her early life is really interesting is it not? Her early life might be really intriguing, but her
career is what most people care about. Now to learn about the things most people want to know.

my favorite of hers. This Album featured songs like Sparks Fly, Enchanted, and Mean.
Taylor Swift all of the songs on this album by herself. With this album she grossed (earned) over
6
123 million dollars. Taylor was mainly known for being a country singer, but this album blended
country, alternative rock, and pop to make it unusual.
Her next album came out on October 22, 2012, was titled Red. This album had featured songs
like We Are Never Getting Back Together and "I Knew You Were Trouble". The album title
was inspired by the "semi-toxic relationships" that Swift experienced during the process of
conceiving this album.
This album is mainly about Taylor Swifts inner feelings, love to be specific. It sold 1.28 million
copies in the U.S.A. in its first week on the market. In other countries, it was a HUGE hit.
Taylor Swifts newest album 1989 was released on October 27, 2014. She titled this after the

accomplishment on June 5. This is the third one of Taylor Swifts albums that has sold over five

Theres no denying that Taylor swift has managed to obtain many awards since she was

Taylor once donated to a girl named Naomi. On Tuesday, July 8, the 25-year-old donated
$50,000 to an 11-year-old fan battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her parents had bought her
tickets to go see one of Taylor concerts, but she couldnt go since she had developed cancer.
Naomi was so sad, but Taylor knew just the way to cheer her up. Taylor personally sent her a
message about how there will be more concerts, and that all she had to do was stay in there.
Naomi has survived her cancer and is slowly getting her feet back under her. Taylor Swift could
have quite possibly saved this girl's life.
Once Taylor Swift gave five hundred thousand dollars to flood relief in Nashville, Tennessee.
She did so on a telethon, which altogether raised one point seven million dollars to help those
affected by this horrible disaster. Taylor wasnt the only famous one who pitched in. Vince Gill
hosted the telethon, and Keith Urban, Alison Krauss and Darius Rucker performed, worked the
phones and pitched in their own donations, too. This donation was extra special because it was to
help the place that she grew up in.
Another time, Taylor donated to a fans family, who had just lost an extremely loved member.
The girl was eighteen years old and died in a car crash over a Labor Day weekend. She donated

donated over one million dollars to charities, fans, family, and people in need of her help. Over
her years she has grown more appealing, but to some charities and organizations, she was always
just as appealing as she is now.
