Thermoregulation in Animals

Thermoregulation is the process by which animals regulate their body temperature through internal or external means. There are two main types of animals - ectotherms, which rely on external heat sources to regulate temperature, and endotherms, which generate their own heat through metabolic processes to maintain a constant temperature. Thermoregulators can control their body temperature actively, while thermoconformers have temperatures that passively reflect their environment.
