                                                each other?
                                                  Science and religion have
                                                  been a controversial topic for
a long time. According to John
                                                  Donovan 3 out of 5
                                                  scientists...can't really buy
                                                  into the concept of
                                                  god(Science Refutes God).
But what about the other 2
scientists? Were they people like Galileo and Isaac Newton who were
religious? Why would these famous scientists be religious? Science and
religion need to coexist in order to check each other and keep society
running smoothly.
Some people believed, before Darwin was popular, that there being
special creation. That a God had created everything. But then there was
the Big Bang Theory. That was created by a catholic priest, Georges
Lemaitre. Before all of this, Darwin had showed there being diversity in
genetics with natural selection and small changes in traits over time in a
population. He had created tensions between his research and
fundamentalism.
On July 10, 1925 John T. Scopes was charged for teaching Darwins
theory about evolution at a school in Tennessee. In addition, this created a
conflict about science being taught in schools and how the government
would acknowledge certain research.
Furthermore, there are many Jewish physicians, bioethicists and
physical scientists. So, why do they believe in science but at the same time,
they are religious? According to a survey on physicians Doctors look to God
for support and guidance (Survey on physicians religious beliefs shows
majority faithful)So if doctors have a trust in god for guidance then maybe a
god could be pulling the strings behind science. Or even some supernatural
being created science.
Meanwhile, when a person talks about miracles it is said to be done
by a god or something looking over them but research can prove the
outcome at least most of the time. As a matter of fact there is something
called scientific rationalism, which is basing opinions on knowledge and
evidence instead of religious beliefs and superstitions.
They even said that the 10 plagues from the bible can be made clear.
During that time Moses had freed the Israelites from slavery. Scientistific
research says that the plagues can be proven by a chain of natural
phenomena triggered by changes in the climate and environmental disasters
that happened hundreds of years ago (Biblical plagues of really happened
say scientists)Of course this can be proven but God could indeed be pushing
science and leaving pieces of evidence. Not to mention DNA. It is so well
constructed that there has to be something behind it all.
All things considered, if people like Galileo, Gorges Lamertri and
Isaac Newton were religious then science and religion must be untied. If
Fifty-five percent of doctors say their religious beliefs influence how they
practice medicine(Survey on physicians religious beliefs shows majority
faithful) then religion might just be in contrast with science.
