Roberto Nicolas Rigor, composer, was born in Makati in August 8, 1946. Roberto Nicolas
Rigor, composer, was born in Makati in August 8, 1946. He started composing in 1964. His first
recorded Tagalog composition was "T.L Ako Sa'yo", a hit by Cinderella in 1975; he also wrote
the lyrics to Ernani Cuenco's "Bato sa Buhangin" and the English version of "Araw-araw, Gabi-
gabi". Rigor was a member of the bands Ramrods, Cinderella, Backdoor and Blackbuster,
heads the Domestic A&R of Blackgold and 70's Superband.
His career in music started as a member of the Vicor-Pioneer Records Houseband for
Recording, and later becoming a recording supervisor for Vicor Music Corporation in 1960. The
following years would see Snaffu become part of different recording companies such as Jem
Records, Blackgold Records, P & D Music and Dyna Records. As a record producer, he has
worked with outstanding musicians such as the APO Hiking Society, Sampaguita, Pilta
Corrales, Sharon Cuneta, Tito Vic & Joey, Andrew E., Sheryl Cruz, and Donna Cruz. His
composition Bulag, Pipi, at Bingi won Grand Prize at the Second Metro Manila Popular Music
Festival or Metropop and was 1st Runner Up as Best Composition at the Seoul Song Festival in
1979. The song Illusion garnered for him second prize at the 2nd Asean Popular Song Festival
in 1982.

Alice Doria-Gamilla (born 20 September 1931) became remarkable for her


composition of "A Million Thanks to You" using her original piano arrangement in 1960. The
song was later on recorded by "Asia's Queen of Songs", Pilita Corrales which hit the millionth
mark in sales which was a first in the Philippine recording history. It eventually became the
signature song of Pilita's longest running musical show on television, "An Evening with Pilita".
It was later recorded by Bobbi Martin of the "Jackie Gleason Show" in the United States under
Coral Records. The song was such a big hit, it was recorded in 7 different languages after.
Born in Nagcarlan, Laguna, Philippines, Doria-Gamilla could play the piano by ear at the
age of three. Afterwards she was given formal instructions when she was six. She was raised
in an atmosphere of music teaching by her mother (Socorro Plantilla Cuento), father (Santos
Montaano Doria) and elder sister (Consuelo Cuento Doria).
As a new discovered composer in 1964, she was featured as a pianist playing her own
compositions in The Television Filipinesque Show in Channel 3 sponsored by Northern Motors
in coordination with Music Promotion Foundation of the Philippines. Another composition she
made which was to become as popular as "A Million Thanks to You" was her "Sa Lahat ng
Oras".
She took up Bachelor of Science in Education and graduated as Magna Cum Laude at
the National University, Manila in 1965. She continued her music studies at the University of
Santo Tomas majored in Piano under Professor Bernardino Custodio. Alice took up further
studies in composition under Professor Felipe Padilla de Leon.
To date, she had composed more than 300 published & unpublished, recorded and
unrecorded songs. She appeared in various concerts for socio-civic organizations, radio and
television shows both in the Philippines and in the U.S. Alice received numerous awards and
citations in the Musical Arts Sector. But she considers as her crowning glory when she was
bestowed the "Gintong Ina" award for the Musical Arts Sector in 1982. She was a

Publishers FILSCAP for many years.

Reynaldo Valera Guardiano (better known as Rey Valera) (born May 4, 1954
in Meycauayan, Bulacan, Philippines) is a well-known singer, songwriter, music director, film
scorer and television host from the Philippines. He wrote and produced songs that were
recorded by various singers, most notably Sharon Cuneta. He is currently the head judge of
the singing contest segment "Tawag ng Tanghalan" in a variety noontime show It's Showtime.
Rey Valera started his recording career in 1977 after becoming a band member from a
group called Electric Hair Band for seven years. He waxed his first single as a solo singer
songwriter with the song Ako si Superman, which he created supposedly for Rico Puno. His
former boss at Vicor Records gave him the opportunity to sing his song and at the same time
hired him as one of Vicor's in-house producers.
Rey also made songs for other artists such as Rico Puno's Sorry Na, Pwede Ba, Daigdig
Ng Ala-ala; Geraldine's Pangako; Pol Enriquez' Ayoko na Sa 'Yo and many more. While he made
songs for his peers, he made albums for himself such as Naaalala Ka, Rey Valera Vol.
2, Walang Kapalit, Hello, The Rey Valera Christmas Album, Gabay Mo Ako, Rey Valera's
Greatest Hits Vol. 1,Rey Valera's Greatest Hits Vol. 2, Pirapirasong Ala-ala, Sa Kabila Ng Lahat,
Kung Sakaling Iibig Muli, FM Ka, AM Ako, Home Sweet Home, Ang Mahalaga, etc. Most of these
albums made golds and platinums.
Recently, Vicor Music Corporation compiled all of Rey Valera's recorded songs in their
library in a 4 disc set album entitled, "Walang Kapalit" as part of Vicor's 40-year anniversary.

He was finally inducted to the Philippines Eastwood City Walk of Fame in 2009.
He won the MYX Magna Award 2015 in the recent 2015 MYX Music Awards.

George Masangkay Canseco (23 April 1934 19 November 2004) was a Filipino
composer of numerous popular Filipino songs.
Unlike most masters of music, multi-awarded composer Canseco had no formal training
in music. He learned to interpret, write and compose notes at a very early age and he taught
himself to play the piano.
Canseco finished journalism at the University of the East and worked for the Philippines
Herald and Associated Press as an editor.
Aside from being a journalist, he also worked as a part-time scriptwriter for the Manila
Broadcasting Co and news director at Eagle Broadcasting. When Martial Law was declared in
1972, he turned to composing songs.
His first composition was I Will Never Be Yours, followed by Youre all I Love. He
translated the latter into Tagalog in 1970, when Eddie Rodriguez asked him to write a theme
song for the movie Kapantay ay Langit. The song became a big hit and gave Canseco
instant popularity. Kapantay ay Langit paved the way to numerous hit songs like "Kailangan
Kita," "Ako Ang Nagwagi, Ako Ang Nasawi," "Ngayon At Kailanman," "Dito Ba" and "Langis at
Tubig." Cansecos songs have helped most of our talented performers rise to fame.
He has composed hits for singers like Basil Valdez, Kuh ledesma, Sharon Cuneta, Dulce,
and Pilita Corrales.
He also directed the music of such movies as Burlesk Queen, Pagputi ng Uwak, Pag-itim
ng Tagak; Atsay, and Miss X. Between 1979 and 1991, he has won a total of 6 FAMAS Awards
for Best Movie Theme Song, and the Artistic Achievement Award.

Dingdong Avanzado, a singer, actor, TV host and composer, was born in Quezon City on
born July 7, 1968. Regarded as one of the most outstanding concert performers, this multi-
platinum recording artist/ songwriter/ director and total entertainer garnered several
attributes such as Kilabot Ng Mga Kolehiyala, Crush Ng Bayan and dubbed as The Original
Prince of Pop.
In 1988, he released the album Tatlong Beinte Singko under Dyna Records. The album
contained eight tracks, including hit singles: "Ikaw Lamang", "Maghihintay Sa'Yo", and "Tatlong
Beinte Singko" (composed by 17-year-old Rannie Raymundo). In the same year, he staged his
second major concert at the Folk Arts Theater
From 19891990, he performed two major concerts at the University of Life Theater and
Recreational Arena (ULTRA). He also performed stunts in movies and starred in several youth-
oriented films such as Pik Pak Boom, I Love You Three Times a Day, Estudyante Blues,
and Love At First Sight.
His performance in movie theme songs prompted Dyna Records (now Dyna Music) to
offer him a record deal in 1987. His single, Ikaw Lamang earned his first Gold Records
Award. During the same year, he also staged his first major concert Shine On at Rizal Theatre
(now occupied by Shangrila Hotel Makati).
Henceforth, he released two more albums under Dyna Records; after which he released
eight more albums under OctoArts International, Sony Music, GMA Records, Star Records,
Universal Records and Viva Records, including two compilation albums under PolyEast
Records.
His concert at the Rizal Theatre was followed by three major concerts, in addition to the
concert he performed in with his wife Jessa Zaragosa in 2002 at the Folk Arts Theatre.
Dingdong Avanzado performed not only in several cities in the Philippines, but also in
Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada and the United States of America.
Currently, Dingdong Avanzado is the Corporate Secretary of the Organisasyon ng
Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM).

Roel Cortez

Roel Cortez (born Roel Corpuz, July 30, 1967 - April 1, 2015) was a Filipino singer and
songwriter who rose to fame in the 1980s due to his Tagalog hit songs such as "Napakasakit,
Kuya Eddie", "Dalagang Probinsyana", "Pinay sa Japan", and "Bakit Ako'y Sinaktan".
He also has songs like "Baleleng" (Tagalog version), "Iniibig Kita" and "Sa Mata
Makikita". Universal Records in the Philippines released a compilation album entitled The Best
of Roel Cortez with a videoke edition.
Roel Cortez was born Roel Corpuz in the Philippines in 1967. The youngest of the six
children of Seferino and Felicisima Corpuz, he left home at the age of 16, due to his parents
not allowing him to pursue a music career - but he decided to anyway. However, he would
remain separated from his family for the rest of his life.
In 1984, he had a massive hit in his home country with "Napakasakit, Kuya Eddie?", on
the 'Universal Records' label, which also became something of an anthem for overseas Filipino
workers. By then, he had changed his surname to Cortez, and he married Corazon, with whom
he went on to have seven children. Through his music, he was also able to finance a Civil
Engineering course for his wife at the Technological Institute of the Philippines. Together, they
started "CPC Builders", based in Marilao, Bulacan. He also found fame with his 'tagalong'
version of "Baleleng", and with "Iniibig Kita" (featured in this Jam). In 1992, Universal Records
released "The Best of Roel Cortez" as an album containing 16 tracks, including those three
biggest hits.
1990s Filipino

Rico Blanco

Rico Rene Granados Blanco (born March 17, 1973) is a Filipino singer, songwriter, multi-
instrumentalist, record producer, actor, endorser and entrepreneur. Best known of being one
of the founding members, chief songwriter and served as the lead vocalist of the Filipino rock
band Rivermaya from 1994 until 2007, His compositions gained success and critical acclaim,
those earn himself a reputation of being one the most respected music icons in the the
Philippines
Aside from his songwriter credits in his solo album and in Rivermaya, Blanco also
arranged and wrote music for various side projects such as the United Nations MDG
theme "Tayo Tayo Rin", The Philippine Department of Tourism theme "Biyahe Tayo", both of
which were performed by veteran Filipino musicians, such as Freddie Aguilar, the APO Hiking
Society, Lea Salonga, and Sharon Cuneta. He also co-wrote "Posible", which has been used as a
theme song for the 2005 Southeast Asian Games.
Rico Blanco is also a stage, film, and television actor. He starred in ABS-
CBN's Imortal alongside John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin, and May Isang
Pangarap alongside Carmina Villaroel and Vina Morales. He also starred alongside Noel
Cabangon and Joey Ayala in the Music Museum and 1970s Bistro production of Jesus Christ
Superstar and also starred alongside Epy Quizon and Christopher de Leon in the independent
film Nasaan si Francis?. He also directed several music videos, won an award for his work as
advertising musical arranger. Blanco also dabbles in painting and photography.
Among the albums Blanco produced are Slapshock's Project 11-41, Sugarfree's Sa
Wakas, The Dawn's Salamat (Millennium edition single), Teeth's I Was a Teenage
Tree andRivermaya's Free album which won him an NU Rock award for Producer of the year.
Blanco also used to host MYX Live. He also composed and arranged scores for many
commercials & other various corporate functions around the Philippines.

Herminio Jose Lualhati Alcasid, Jr. (born 27 August 1967), known as Ogie Alcasid is
a Filipino singer-songwriter, television presenter, comedian, parodist, and actor. He is currently
the President of OPM (Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit) and Commissioner of the Edsa
People Power Commission.
Ogie was a former batch member of all male singing group Kundirana batch 1985 after
Gary V. in 1985. His first album was released in 1988, his debut movie was Feel Na Feel was
released by Regal Entertainment in 1990, followed his 2nd movie was Tiny Terrestrial: The
Tiny Professors released by OctoArts films in 1991, the same year, Ogie made his VIVA films
debut movie, Pitong Gamol released in 1991.
Alcasid debuted as a singer in 1989 with the release of his self-titled album. Ogie
Alcasid reached gold record status, while his debut single "Nandito Ako" (I Am Here) was
awarded "Song of the Year" by local radio station Magic 89.9. He has since released 18
albums, including a Christmas album (Larawan ng Pasko/Images of Christmas, 1994), a live
album (OA sa Hits (Live), 2002), and four greatest hits albums. He has received a total of
twelve gold records, three platinum records, and three double platinum records.
Alcasid's television career started as one of the hosts of comedy show Small
Brothers on ABS-CBN in 1992. He appeared on other comedy programs such as ABS-
CBN's Mana Mana (199192), ABC's Tropang Trumpo (from 199495), GMA Network's Bubble
Gang (1995-2013), QTV's Ay, Robot! (200507), and a sitcom Show Me Da Manny (201011).
Alcasid is recently the judge in Pinoy Idol and hosted such game shows as Da Big
Show and Hole In The Wall. In 2013, he left GMA Network and moved to TV5, where he first
project under the channel was The Mega and The Songwriter.
In 2016, he returned to his home network, ABS-CBN he joined to Tawag Ng Tanghalan
on It's Showtime for being a hurado and he was a current judge of Your Face Sounds Familiar:
Kids, replacing Jed Madela, the judge of season 1 and 2 on adults edition before he returned
to ABS-CBN, his contract on TV5 was expired, he later appears on severalGMA Network shows
for a guesting he made a guesting on Yan Ang Morning, Sunday Pinasaya, he also made a
guesting on Eat Bulaga! for a guest judge he made a special guesting on Sarap Diva, hosted

Edgardo Jose "Gary" Santiago Valenciano (born 6 August 1964), also known Gary
V. and Mr. Pure Energy, is a Filipinomusician. Valenciano has released 26 albums, and won
the Awit Awards for "Best Male Performer" eleven times. In 1998, he becameUNICEF
Philippines first National Ambassador. His most notable songs include "'Di Bale Na Lang"
("Never mind"), "Eto Na Naman" ("Here we go again"), "Sana Maulit Muli" ("I wish it happens
again"), "Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos?" ("Is God sleeping?"), "Gaya ng Dati" ("Just like before"),
"Pasko Na, Sinta Ko" ("It's Christmas, my love"), "Narito" ("Here"), "Babalik Ka Rin" ("You'll
return too"), "Di Na Natuto" ("Never learned"), "Shout for Joy", and "Take Me Out of the Dark".
He is currently part of ABS-CBN contract actors, and is frequently tapped to sing theme
songs for the network's soap operas and in-house film arm, Star Cinema.
Gary Valenciano was given the ASAP Elite Platinum Circle Award for 2008 for his
extraordinary achievements in the local music industry. In his 25 years in the music industry,
he has been awarded five Platinum albums, four double Platinum albums, three triple Platinum
albums, and two sextuple Platinum albums.
Gary Valenciano was born in Santa Mesa district of City of Manila on 6 August 1964. He
is the sixth of seven children of Vicente Calacas Valenciano, a Bicolano
from Camalig, Albay and Grimilda Santiago y Olmo, a Puerto Rican from Arecibo. His parents
met in New York, married, and settled in Manila. His father is from Bicol, while his mother is
a Puerto Rican of Italian descent who sang opera in Manila during the 1960s. Valenciano
attended primary and secondary school in La Salle Green Hills.
Valenciano is married to Mara Anna Elizabeth "Angeli" Pangilinan, with whom he has
three children: Paolo Valenciano (vocalist of the band Salamin, and is married to Samantha
Godinez), Jos Angelo Gabriel Valenciano (singer, keyboardist, dancer, and is married to Tricia
Centenera) and Kristiana Mara Mikaela (model-turned-singer).
He is currently living with type 1 diabetes, and has been an endorser for several
wellness products related to the condition.

Jimmy Borja is a songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Born and raised in the Philippines,
his songs have been recorded by artists in that country for labels such as Sony-BMG, Viva,
Warner, EMI, Universal, Star and many others.
Artists who have recorded his songs include Lani Misalucha, Sarah Geronimo, Ariel Rivera,
Charlie Green, Sharon Cuneta, Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Chad Borja, Kyla, Ogie Alcasid,
Rachelle Ann Go, Mark Bautista, Erik Santos, MYMP, Christian Bautista, Dingdong Avanzado,

Many hit songs that hed written like Sana Ngayong Pasko, Bukas Na Lang Kita
Mamahalin, If The Feeling Is Gone and many others have become contemporary Philippine
music favorites.
Multi-awarded composer and musician, Borja started his career with his first song "Sultii
Na" winning the Grand Prize in the first Bohol Popular Music Festival in 1999. His first hit song,
a Christmas ballad entitled "Sana Ngayong Pasko", was recorded by Ariel Rivera and since
then became one of the country's favorite come the Yuletide season. He also wrote the
critically-acclaimed song "Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw", a finalist in GMA Channel 7's Metro Pop Song
Festival and interpreted by Lani Misalucha. This song was nominated in the 2007 KATHA
Awards. Other Awards: Gawad sa Galing ng Pilipino (in the field of pop music), 2008 Best
Ballad Song (AWIT Awards).
A year after moving to Nashville, Borja was offered an exclusive writing deal by Los
Angeles based veteran music publisher Christian De Walden, thus becoming the first non-
artist, homegrown Filipino songwriter to land a publishing deal in the U.S. Hes now been
writing for De Waldens company for four years who continues to provide him a monthly draw
and secure cuts for him in the Asian and Latin markets.
Recent cuts include songs recorded by Rachelle Ann Go, Martin Nievera, David DiMuzio, Jed
Madela and Kristoffer Martin in the Philippines, Spanish superstar Marta Sanchez and
legendary artist Dionne Warwick, a song that he wrote with Nashville hit writer Byron Hill.

Josephine "Yeng" Constantino (born December 4, 1988) is a Filipina pop-rock singer-


songwriter and occasional actress. In 2006, she won the title "Grand Star Dreamer" in
the inaugural season of Pinoy Dream Academy, the Philippine edition of Endemol's reality TV
show Star Academy.
Josephine "Yeng" Eusebio ConstantinoAsuncion is the youngest of five siblings in the
Constantino family. She is a second cousin of television host and Pinoy Big Brother: Teen
Edition Plus second runner-up Robi Domingo. Her family was raised as a born-again Christian.
By June 2013, Constantino began a relationship with Victor "Yan" Asuncion, a fellow
musician and worship director at Victory Christian Fellowship. In March 2014, after nine
months of dating, Constantino announced her engagement to Asuncion through
anInstagram post. On February 14, 2015, the couple married at a resort in Tagaytay, Cavite.
Since September 2015, both Constantino and Asuncion went on vegan diets.
Yeng Constantino will become the ambassador of Metropolitan Manila Development
Authority on March 1, 2017, to fight traffic congestion in Metro Manila and to serve 17 local
government units of Metro Manila during the Presidency of Rodrigo Duterte.

Kean Edward Uson Cipriano, (born June 11, 1987) better known as Kean Cipriano is a Filipino singer,
composer, actor, and musician. He is well known as the current vocalist of pop-rock band Callalily.
Kean Edward Uson Cipriano was born in Pasig City, and has two younger brothers, Keno and Keano. He
finished his high school education at Lourdes School of Mandaluyong. He is also a cousin of singer and
dancer Mocha Uson. Cipriano attended the Conservatory of Music at the University of Santo Tomas and
read business administration at the Entrepreneurs School of Asia (ESA).
In October 2015, Cipriano confirmed his relationship with actress Chynna Ortaleza on Tonight with Boy
Abunda. Two months later, on New Year's Eve, the couple announced their marriage. The couple are expecting
their first child, a daughter.
On March 17, 2016, his father, Edgie Cipriano died due to Tuberculosis in Pasig City.
He was part of ABS-CBN's noontime show "MTB" and won opposite Trixie Cacho on the LUV IDOL segment.
In 2010, Cipriano began his acting career via the TV5 series BFGF' with Alex Gonzaga followed by a sitcom
titled, Hapi Together.
In 2011, Cipriano expanded his acting career by starring in his first movie together with Eugene
Domingo titled, Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank where he played Rainier, a director. He also made several guest
appearances in late morning series, Showtime aired over at the ABS-CBN Network, it is there that he met his
close friend, Vice Ganda, the two later topbilled Praybeyt Benjamin which became the highest grossing Filipino
film of all-time. In the same year he appeared in his first independent film titled, San Lazaro. He starred in his
own television drama that aired on TV5 titled, P.S. I Love You with Gonzaga.
In 2012, Cipriano starred in a film titled The Reunion to be released by Star Cinema together
with Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil and Xian Lim with Bangs Garcia as his leading-lady.
He used to be a "freelancer" in entertainment, appearing in projects of (but without any formal
association with) the three largest television networks when he first entered the showbiz. Currently, he is a talent
of ABS CBN.
In 2013, Cipriano won the one-million peso briefcase in "Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal" together with
Enchong Dee. On June 5, it was announced that he will take part on the second Philippine Popular Music
Festival together with Banda ni Kleggy as the interpreters for the song called "Space" written by Raffy Calicdan.

Angeline Quinto (born November 26, 1989) is a Filipino singer, actress, and winner
of Star Power: Sharon's Search For The Next Female Pop Superstar in 2011. She is managed
by ABS-CBN Talent arm, Star Magic.
Quinto was born on November 26, 1989 as the only daughter of Pop Quiros and
Rosemarie Susan Mabao. Mabao initially wanted an abortion as she felt that she could no
longer continue to be a mother while being in an abusive relationship with her father. Her
father's aunt, Sylvia Quinto, however convinced her not to and instead offered to raise
Angeline. After Mabao gave birth to Quinto, she gave up her parental rights to Mama Bob and

already aware that she was adopted and often kept in touch with her biological father
however she never met her mother. She was eventually reunited with her mother twenty
three years later in 2012.
After three rounds of competition, with the final round singing an original composition
from Star Records, Quinto emerged as the winner of Star Power: Sharon Search For the Next
Female Superstar, earning a cash prize of 1 million pesos, a Great Wall Hover SUV, and an
entertainment showcase from Sony Philippines, diamond jewellery from JMK Jewelry and an
exclusive recording contract from Star Records.
On July 15, 2011, Quinto staged her first solo concert. She also toured and opened
for Sharon Cuneta in her United States concert tour. She has sung several soundtracks for
ABS-CBN television dramas and films. She is currently a co-host and performer on ASAP. Her
album received a Double Platinum certification from PARI.
She has released her very first/debut/self-titled album under Star Records. Angeline
Quinto the album has 14 tracks including the original, alternate, radio, extended remix and
minus-one versions of Patuloy Ang Pangarap, her winning contest piece in the 1st Search for
the Next Female Pop Superstar. Her debut album tops the list of selling albums for both local
and foreign artists. It is considered as the best-selling album of the first quarter of 2011.
After the success of her several multi-platinum debut album, Star Records produced
Quinto's sixth album. On September 8, 2016, her sixth album with the collaboration of Erik
Santos, Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon was launched. The album contains 9 tracks, some of

which were written by Angeline herself. The album reached Gold status after several months.

Ylona Garcia
Composer

Ylona Jade Garcia (born February 28, 2002), better known as Ylona Garcia, is a Filipino-
Australian singer, songwriter, composer, actress, model and dancer. Garcia rose to
prominence after entering as a housemate on the first part of the second special
season of ABS-CBN's reality show Pinoy Big Brother (2015) for which she received the title of
"Daldal Darling ng Australia" (Lit. Talkative Darling of Australia) and finished first runner-up
to Jimboy Martin.
Ylona Jade Navalle Garcia was born on February 28, 2002, in Sydney, Australia, to
Filipino parents, Peter Garcia and Caridad Navalle-Garcia; both of which are practitioners in
the medical field based in Australia. She is the third among five siblings. At a very young age,
Garcia has performed as a front act for several Filipino singers and songwriters such as Martin
Nievera, Sarah Geronimo and Rivermaya's former lead vocalist Bamboo Maalac during their
Australian concert tours. Garcia also performed Zedd and Ariana Grande's song "Break Free"
at the Filipino Fiesta in September 2014 with a video of the performance uploaded on
her YouTube channel.She has also participated in numerous singing competitions and won two
notable competitions such as the Urban Star Sydney Championship in December 2014, for
which she received the "Most Promising Talent" award in the same month; and Fast Track
Australian Singing Competition as part of the junior division in March 2015. Garcia also
finished third in the National Urban Star Competition reaping through the "Judges Choice"
segment for the "Coolest Artist" and "the artist with the 'wow' factor.
In 2015, Garcia auditioned to become a housemate for the first part of the second
special season of ABS-CBN's reality television series Pinoy Big Brother, where she passed after
showcasing her talents in singing, acting and dancing as well for her "confidence and candid
remarks. She entered the house on the second day with Franco Rodriguez, who was later
hailed as the second runner-up; Kyle Secades and Zonia Mejia. During her time in the house,
Garcia composed and recorded two songs, "Win the Fight" (2015), for which she composed
and recorded with her fellow housemate Jimboy Martin; and "Magmahal Muli" (2005, lit. To
Love Again), for which she recorded with her fellow housemate Bailey May.
Last August 5, 2016, Star Records launched Ylona's first debut album entitled My
Name is Ylona Garcia containing 9 songs, eight of which were original compositions by Ylona.

Abra
Her album reached Gold Record status two months after its release.

Raymond Abracosa, better known as Abra, is a Filipino hip hop artist and occasional
actor.He gained popularity in his song "Gayuma". The music video for the song shows Abra
being given a potion only to realize that his love interest is in fact transgender. When the
video reached more than 26 million views on YouTube, it was hailed as the highest number
generated by any local artist.
His career started as a member of Pinoy hip hop group Lyrically Deranged Poets (LDP) in
2010. He joined the Fliptop Battle Leagueas Abra. They released their independent debut
album, The Project in 2009, and had their first major concert at the legendary Music Museum
in 2010. LDP was awarded Best Urban Group at both the 2010 and 2011 Urban Music Awards,
among other nominations. In 2011, LDP was granted TV air time on myx for the music video of
their song, "Here to Own It", which was able to enter the charts. He is also a major icon in the
Fliptop battle league, as well as a co-host on PTV 4's show iConnect.
When the Fliptop and Sunugan rap battle leagues came about in 2010, Abra was one of
the first battle emcees to compete and gradually make a name for himself. After a couple of
intense rap battles, Abra has been considered as one of the heavyweights in Filipino rap
battling. Using his compelling lyrical style coupled with witty antics, he is able to impress
viewers and artists alike; and has YouTube videos that have amassed millions of views. It did
not take long until Abra was able to perform on live television, radio shows and various events
across the country.
In 2013, Abra and his label Artifice Records signed a major distribution deal with Ivory
Music & Video. He released his self-titled debut album nationwide on February 21, 2014. He
took home the 'Best Music on YouTube Award' for his YouTube Channel called 'Abra TV' at the
2013 Globe Tatt Awards. On March 29, he collaborated with Maja Salvador for the song "Halika
Na" on her debut album Believe.
The music video "Cerberus"- featuring Loonie& Ron Henley under the direction of Willan
Rivera won MYX Philippines Best Music Video Award of 2016.
