clocks.
Activity
This
learning
activity
will
give
first
grade
students
the
opportunity
to
create
a
timeline
of
their
day
over
the
course
of
two
days/class
periods.
The
SOL
standard
listed
above
will
be
broken
into
two
parts/days.
Day
1
will
focus
on
digital
clocks
as
students
use
http://www.softschools.com/teacher_resources/timeline_maker/
to
create
their
timelines.
The
teacher
will
collect
these
timelines
from
the
printer
and
save
them
for
the
following
day.
On
day
2,
the
students
will
demonstrate
their
knowledge
of
analog
clocks
after
receiving
their
timelines
along
with
9
analog
clocks
to
draw
the
time
and
paste
on
the
timeline
accordingly.
Breaking
this
activity
up
Pedagogy
into
2
days
allows
time
for
the
teacher
to
review
and
clear
up
any
misunderstandings
at
the
beginning
of
the
math
period.
Technology
The
technology
being
used
allows
students
to
generate
free
Technology
timelines.
Its
called
Timeline
Maker
and
can
be
accessed
at:

Directions
for
Use
DAY/CLASS
PERIOD
1:
1. Go
to
the
Internet.
2. Type
in
the
URL:
http://www.softschools.com/teacher_resources/timeline_make
r/
3. Once
the
page
loads,
press
Start.
4. Click
the
dropdown
arrow
for
Events
and
click
9.
5. Enter
the
title
for
your
timeline;
the
title
must
include
the
students
name.
i.e.
A
day
in
the
life
of
____
or
____s
daily
schedule
6. Under
the
column
titled
Event
Date,
you
will
be
typing
the
time
in
digital
form
with
AM
or
PM
depending
on
whether
you
are
describing
the
morning
or
afternoon/night.
7. Under
the
column
titled
Event
Description,
you
will
type
a
sentence
describing
what
you
are
doing
at
that
time.
8. Once
you
finish
all
9
events,
click
Generate
Timeline.
9. Click
the
printer
icon
then
raise
your
hand
and
quietly
wait
for
the
teacher
to
come
around
and
make
sure
you
print
to
the
correct
printer.
10. The
teacher
will
collect
all
of
the
timelines
from
the
printer
and
save
for
the
following
day.
11. The
teacher
will
also
make
copies
of
the
attached
page
containing
9
analog
clocks
for
the
students
to
cut/paste
on
day
2.
The
page
containing
the
analog
clocks
will
also
need
to
be
cut
in
half.
DAY/CLASS
PERIOD
2:
1. The
teacher
will
pass
out
the
timelines
to
each
student
along
with
the
half
pages
containing
9
analog
clocks.
2. Cut
each
of
the
analog
clocks
out
and
glue
them
along
the
timeline
underneath
each
event.
3. Draw
the
time
of
the
first
event
on
the
clock
pasted
under
it.
Continue
to
do
that
for
the
remaining
8
events.
4. Turn
the
finished
timeline
in
to
the
teacher.
