PILGRIM CODE OF CONDUCT | SUBMIT BY JULY 15, 2017
As a member of the archdiocesan delegation to World Youth Day and a member of the St. Augustine's Youth
Movement pilgrimage, I acknowledge that I am an ambassador of my parish and the Archdiocese of Vancouver. The
delegation depends on the cooperation of all pilgrims to help serve as a network of support. I will show respect for
God, others and places at all times and behave responsibly and participate actively in the events. I also agree to:
Participate in the faith and fellowship development of the group prior and during the pilgrimage.
Speak and behave in a way that exemplifies Christian values.
Limit physical contact with others to what is appropriate for the situation and to what is unambiguously non-sexual
and does not cause discomfort or stress to the recipient and/or others.
Dress modestly.
Refrain from drug use or alcohol abuse. If consuming alcohol I will exercise prudence when appropriate for a
spiritual pilgrimage; possession of drugs (except medication) and poor behaviour from intoxication will not be
tolerated.
Comply with the directives from my Group Leader.
Inform the Group Leaders if leaving the group and, if aged 18, obtain permission from the Group
Leader to go anywhere unsupervised.
Sleep in rooms as assigned by Parish Group Leaders and remain in my assigned room after curfew on each night
of the pilgrimage.
Cover my expenses for alternate travel plans should I be asked by the Group Leader to leave the
delegation.
I understand that any disregard for the above will result in discipline or removal from the delegation.
