Profile
Professional, highly motivated teacher with long experience in the
teaching of a second language. I have worked with several
methodologies, adapting them to different levels and ages.
Education
June 2,008 University of Granada (Spain)
Degree in English Philology
2,002-3 University of Queen Mary and Westfield College (London)
Erasmus Year
Work experience
Since 2,003 Private one to one lessons (ages from 6 to 18).
Mainly school support to students with low levels with
excellent results.
Basically grammar explanations and learning strategies. I have
focused on reading and writing skills as I have been preparing them
for writing exams.
Since 2,009 English extracurricular teacher in CL Academy
(Granada). Different groups ageing from 3 to 12 (only
Primary School students)
The main objective of these lessons is the review and extension of
their school syllabus. I have used different approaches according to
age and number of students (from 7 to 20 per group), focussing on
speaking and listening skills especially in lower levels. I have made
also my own evaluation, making my own exams and reports every
term.
Achievements and interests
During my time at university, I took several subjects especialised in
the teaching and learning of English as a second language, having
made some projects about webquests, hot potatoes and ESL book
analysis. I also took a subject about the teaching of Spanish as a
second language.
I am very interested in the use of new technologies in classes. I have
some experience with ICT (mainly powerpoints) and audiovisual
support with great results in my extracurricular lessons.
I have some knowledge of Latin, which is the basis of Romance
languages. I am also very interested in Spanish etymology and how
the language has developed along the centuries. I am really good at
Spanish grammar, and I have also given private lessons for High
School students.
