Year 7 Cat 2 - Painting

This document provides guidance for a Year 7 art assignment focusing on painting. Students are challenged to independently create a painting inspired by an artist from one of several art periods (Medieval, Rococo, Mannerism, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Romanticism, Realism). They must demonstrate understanding of color theory, development of brush skills, and research into the art movements through recording key ideas and artists. Students are expected to document their thoughts, research, and refinement of ideas in their folio as part of the assessment. A checklist outlines requirements for research, exploration of color, development of techniques, use of art language, and reflection.
