APPALACHIAN DISTRICT VA, WV.MD, PA): Apple orchards continue in bloom as daytime temperatures have cooled to the fifties and sixties
with overcast skies and scattered showers. Straight loads of juice stock various varieties per cwt includes contract prices U.S. Cider grade $10.00-
11.00 mostly 11.00.
MICHIGAN: Trading is fairly slow for juice and process grade apples. Prices for juice are slightly higher at per cwt. picked up at the farm or
delivered from 9.25-11.00. The Michigan Processing Apple Growers Marketing Committee did not negotiate a minimum juice price or for undersize
process apples for the 2016 season. MACMA did negotiate the following processing peeler and canner apple prices with several processors for the
2016 crop, 2-1/2 inch and up per cwt.: Idared 12.25, Jonagold and Crispin 11.50, hard varieties (including Jonathan) 11.25, soft varieties (mostly
McIntosh, Red Delicious and summer varieties) 10.00. There are some table sorts selling as high as 14.00 per cwt. and tree run CA fruit bringing
18.00-19.00 per cwt.
NEW YORK: Movement of apples for juice stock from storable apples or packinghouse sorts is expected to decrease seasonally. Supply fairly light.
Trading is moderate. Prices about steady. Purchase prices listed are variety, size and quality dependent. Prices for processing apples on Wednesday,
April 26, 2017 F.O.B. packing house or receiving station per cwt. 2016 crop: Juice Stock - (Utilizing All Available Varieties from storable apples and
packinghouse sorts) $10.50-$14.00 mostly $12.00 Prices listed include previous commitments.
WASHINGTON: Offerings to processors moderate. Trading fairly slow. Prices generally unchanged. Prices for Wednesday April 26, 2017, F.O.B.
Packing house or receiving station per ton 2016 Crop. Wide range in prices. Juice $20.00-25.00 few Granny Smith higher. Peelers $120.00-160.00
mostly $140.00-150.00.
