Baseball
The sport that evokes more nostalgia among
Americans than any other is baseball. So
many people play the game as children that it
has become known as "the national pastime."
The game, as it is known today, evolved from
a variety of similar games that have been
played for centuries; although it is clear that
modern baseball developed in North America,
the exact origin of the game is difficult to
determine.
Basketball
Basketball was invented in 1891 by James
Naismith, a teacher at a YMCA training school
in Springfield, Massachusetts. Due to its
simple equipment requirements, indoor play,
competitiveness, and easily understood rules,
the game gained popularity quickly.
Basketball, as a team sport, is now played by
more than 250 million people worldwide, as
well as by countless others in "pick-up" games
American Football
American football is a distinct type of football
that developed in the United States in the 19th
century from soccer and rugby. Football is
played by school, college and professional
teams and is one of the most popular
American sports, attracting thousands of
participants and millions of spectators
annually. American football was made popular
by teams representing colleges and
universities.
AMERICAN MUSIC
Jazz & Blues
Blues is a native American musical, it was mostly
sung in the South and only spread northward in the
1930s and 1940s with the migration of many blacks
from the South. The twenties saw the blues become
a musical form more widely used by jazz
instrumentalists.
Jazz originated in New Orleans early in the 20th
century In the 1970s, many jazz musicians
experimented with electronic instruments and
created a blend of rock and jazz called fusion.
Pop music
Due to its diversity, popular music in the
United States today challenges simple
description. The history of popular music in the
1970s and '80s is basically that of rock music
which has grown to include hundreds of
musical styles. New styles such as folk, salsa,
new wave, funk, reggae, heavy metal, acid
rock, punk rock, rap, hip hop, acid jazz and
world music have developed.
AMERICAN FOOD
American Burguer- Typical dish
A cheeseburger when served with a slice of
cheese consists of meat, usually beef, placed
inside a sliced bread roll. Hamburgers may be
cooked in a variety of ways, including pan
frying, barbecuing, and flame broiling.
Hamburgers are often served with cheese,
lettuce, tomato, bacon, onion,and condiments
such as mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup...
Egg Rolls
The term egg roll is commonly used in North
America to refer to variations of fried foods
involving filling wrapped in flat bread. The dish
is considered a subtype of the spring roll in
mainland China, with the Chinese term
meaning egg roll referring to the biscuit roll
instead.
Corn dogs
Newly arrived German Texan sausage-
makers, finding resistance to the sausages
they used to make, have been credited with
introducing the corn dog to the United States,
though the serving stick came later.

PLACES TO VISIT
Golden Gate Bridge
Considered the most beautiful, the most
photographed, bridge in the world. The Golden Gate
Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden
Gate, the strait between San Francisco and Marin
County to the north. The Golden Gate Bridge was the
longest suspension bridge span in the world when it
was completed in 1937, and has become an
internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco
and California
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is situated in the midst of the southern
Nevada desert landscape. It features giant mega-
casino hotels, decorated with care and attention to
detail to create a fantasy-like atmosphere. The
casinos often have names and themes that evoke
romance, mystery, and far-away destination.
Grand Canyon
Located in northern Arizona, The Grand
Canyon is one of the great tourist attractions
in the United States. Carved by the Colorado
River, the canyon attains a depth of over 1.6
km (1 mile) and 446 km (277 miles) long.
Times Square
The worlds most visited tourist attraction, hosting
over 39 million visitors annually. Approximately half a
million people pass through Times Square daily. This
Manhattan crossroads of commerce retains the top
spot on our list, thanks to increased visitation to the
Big Apple in 2008 despite the economic turndown.
Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on
Liberty Island in New York Harbor, in the United States. It was
built by Gustave Eiffel as a gift to the United States from the
people of France. The statue is of a female figure representing
Libertas, the Roman goddess, who has a torch and a tablet
evoking the law upon which is inscribed the date of the
American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.
USA Flag
It consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes

Often referred to as the King, Elvis was one

century. A shy boy he was often bullied at
school and told he could not sing.
Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968)
MLK was an American clergyman, activist, and
leader in the African-American Civil Rights
Movement. He is best known for his role in the
advancement of civil rights in a non-violent
manner and his speech I Had a Dream.
Bill Gates (1955)
Bill Gates is the current chairman and former
CEO of the worlds largest personal-computer
software company, Microsoft. A Company he
co-founded with Paul Allen.
