Now adults, they work together again to defeat It for good after It reemerges and begins killing again. They recreate the ritual, discover It has laid eggs, destroy the eggs, and finally kill It by crushing its heart.

Prcis

It, one of Stephen Kings most recognizable horror stories, is set in the fictional town

of Derry, Maine and begins with a young boy, Georgie, dying under supernatural

circumstances. The story then flashes forward many years into the future when a string of

murders in Derry causes a man named Mike Hanlon to bring several individuals, Georgies

older brother Bill among them, to the town. As the individuals begin to arrive and meet their

shared past is revealed. As children and were terrorized in Derry by bullies, and a murderous

entity that took on the forms of their unique phobias. They constructed a makeshift

smokehouse to hallucinate a ritual which would help defeat the monster they called It. After

being chased by bullies through the Derry sewers - the home of It - the children encounter

the entity. They engage in their hallucinated ritual - the Ritual Of Chd- and manage to

send It into a hibernation. Following their victory the children swear an oath to come back

together should It return. Now in the present the, now, grown-up children encounter new

manifestations of It as they wander through their childhood town. The protagonists decide

that It must be killed after the entity begins to endanger their loved ones. Successfully

recreating the Ritual Of Chd, It becomes injured and is then revealed to have laid eggs.

The protagonists manage to destroy the eggs and finally kill It by crushing Its heart. After the

battle the group recovers their loved ones and go their separate ways.
