NHAI Letter

This letter is requesting the release of L&T's bond and bank guarantee for the Allahabad Bypass Project construction of a bridge across the Ganga River. After a joint site visit in September 2016 and confirmation from the consultant Egis, it was found that the differential settlement between Abutment A2 and Pier P11 reported by L&T was correct. Based on prior observations in 2009 and 2011, the consultant also confirmed that Abutment A2 had already stabilized. Therefore, there is no need for further monitoring by L&T, though routine monitoring of the structure by the concerned authority is still recommended. The letter requests that the bank guarantee be released at the earliest.

Construction Package ABP-1-Release of L&Ts Bond and BG.

Dear Sir,

This is with ref. to your letter no. 11015/NHAI/ABP-1/Settlement/PIU/Alld/19646


dated 06/03/2017 on the above subject enclosing our letter no.
L&T/Allahabad/NHAI/2016-05 dated 19/12/2016.

After the joint visit on 5th,6th,7th Sept. 16 , the differential Settlement between
Abutment A2 and Pier P11 which was submitted by M/s L&T was found to be
order which was confirmed by M/s Egis vide their letter dated 18 th Nov. 16.

On the basis of observation earlier recorded on 23 rd Sept. 2009 and 12th April
2011 at Abutment A-2 (LCW), M/s Egis confirmed that A-2 LCW had alrady
stablized on 12th April 2011 which was brought out in our letter no.2 dated 21th
Sept. 2016.

On the basis of above observations , it is understood that the pier P11 and
Abutment A2 had settled as confirmed by consultant and there is no
requirement of further monitoring and observation by M/s L&T , although as the
consultant had already recomended regarding the routine monitering of the
structure which must be carried out at regular interval by the concerned
authority.

Also, we request you to release our Bank Guarantee at the earliest.
