Stages of inspection and CTQ for the Pyrogel installation

in S0400058
Procurement :
a) Thickness and material verification
b) Test certificate conforming to various specifications (Temperature tolerance, hot surface performance, etc.)

During installation of insulation :


a) No voids/ holes in the insulation throughout.
b) Min overlap of 50mm between the seams.
c) Uniform insulation over the surface without compressions.
d) Correct number and thickness of layers
e) Proper intermediate banding and spacing.
f) Correct use of orange peel collar or other means of permanent sealing ( caulking not accepted) of
topside protrusions where required.

After jacketing :

a) Removal of any caulking or other means of sealing around protrusions on underside or low point
protrusions which allow water drainage.
b) Proper means of permanent sealing around protrusions where required.
c) Proper band and spring spacing.
d) Proper jacketing material (i.e. SS where vessel insulation is to serve as fireproofing.)
