They design and develop the mechanical devices and equipment used to harvest electricity such as generators and turbines for power plants. They also help in the transmission, utilization, and distribution of electricity. Additionally, mechanical engineers design and create more efficient battery technologies which are crucial for storing energy, especially in fields involving automation. Developing improved batteries will be helpful for meeting future energy storage needs.

Role of Mechanical Engineers in Electricity Storage

Mechanical Engineers have a very important role in the


society. It has a unique role of solving social problems through
the use of machines, devices, systems, materials and processes.
Mechanical engineers design and manufacture everything from
small individual parts and devices to large systems; the example
of it is the spacecraft and machine tools.

Mechanical engineers play a central role in such industries


as automotive (from the car chassis to its every subsystem
engine, transmission, sensors); aerospace (airplanes, aircraft
engines, control systems for airplanes and spacecraft);
biotechnology (implants, prosthetic devices, fluidic systems for
pharmaceutical industries); computers and electronics (disk
drives, printers, cooling systems, semiconductor tools); micro
electromechanical systems, or MEMS (sensors, actuators, micro
power generation); energy conversion (gas turbines, wind
turbines, solar energy, fuel cells); environmental control (HVAC,
air-conditioning, refrigeration, compressors); automation
(robots, data and image acquisition, recognition, control);
manufacturing (machining, machine tools, prototyping, micro
fabrication). One of its roles is in Electricity Storage. Although
in electrical engineering has the majority pertaining to role
because from the word itself electricity, mechanical engineers
have also a great concern about this topic. One of it is in
manufacturing the devices or mechanical equipment used in
harvesting electricity (e.g. generators, turbines; hydraulic, wind,
and other parts of the power harvesting plants), in
transmission, utilization, and distribution mechanical engineers
have also a great part.

In energy storing pertaining to electricity storage,


mechanical engineers have a great help. Especially in storing
energy in batteries. Mechanical engineers create, design and
help to develop more efficient batteries that can be helpful in
the near future, especially in the field of automation, batteries
are great in need.
