Attention: Factors/ Conditions of Attention Objective Factors

Selective attention is the process of choosing which stimuli to focus on, such as paying attention to food when hungry. There are two factors that influence attention: objective factors related to stimulus intensity, size, novelty, movement, repetition, change, and duration, and subjective factors like motives, interests, preparation, and past experiences. Perception is an active cognitive process that involves selecting, organizing, and interpreting stimuli based on learning and motivation to form meaningful representations.
