TITLE: ANALYSIS OF PRESSURE AND PRESSURE DERIVATIVE IN NATURALLY FRACTURED GAS
RESERVOIRS USING THE TDS TECHNIQUE
Fuat Campos Pereira
1. OBJECTIVES/SCOPE: Please list the objectives and scope of the proposed paper. (25 -
75 words)
The Tiabs direct synthesis technique is a more consistent and accurate method for
analysis of pressure and therefore it will work for a naturally fractured reservoir of an
interporosity flow between the matrix and the fractures in pseudosteady-state with
compressible fluid.
2. METHODS PROCEDURES, PROCESS: Briefly explain your overall approach, including
your methods, procedures and process. (75 - 100 words)
This method combines characteristic points and slopes of a log-log graph of pressure
data and derived from pressure with the exact analytical solutions to obtain properties
of naturally fractured reservoir. The procedure was to adapt the method for a
compressible fluid of an interporosity flow between the matrix and the fractures by
functions of pseudopressure, at the same time being able to know if the answers of
pressure are influenced by effects of storage or not.
3. RESULTS, OBSERVATIONS, CONCLUSIONS: Please describe the results, observations
and conclusions of the proposed paper. (100 - 200 words)
With the implementation of the Tiabs direct synthesis technique to a naturally
fractured reservoir of a interporosity flow between the matrix and the fractures in
pseudosteady state with compressible fluid we are able to obtain accurate results of
the properties of the deposit through the characterization of the points in the pressure
and pressure derivative chart either in distant times or early times, offering this
method a great advantage over the type curves because this is a method by trial and
error, which often provides answers not unique, in addition that the type curves
provide a constant storage coefficient.
4. Please explain how this paper will present novel (new) or additive information to the
existing body of literature that can be of benefit to a practicing engineer. (25 75
words)
The application of the method developed in this article allows us to expand Tiabs
direct synthesis technique in addition to give an alternative in the industry for the
analysis of pressure.
