Project Name: WEBSITE WITH ORDERING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:
To explain the details of the project, and to assess its overall success.
BACKGROUND:
With the growth of Fresh Options Meat shop, small – large business franchises are
looking forward to becoming its partners. They want to share information about they’re company,
products, facilities and how they operate to a broad audience. Also making they’re customers
shop online could increase their profit, especially with large businesses (i.e. restaurants, burger
stands, etc) who orders a huge amount of meat.
PROJECT GOALS:
To provide a website that can be accessed trough the internet containing details about
the company and its products, operations, trivia, etc. To propose a computerized ordering system
that could store customer information and that has a shopping cart for the customers who order
huge amounts of products ; and accepts all major credit cards or bank deposits as payments.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
• To provide a website for the company containing information about it’s products,
branches and operations.
• To provide an ordering system within the website.
• To provide a secure and reliable database system about its products and customers who
register.
• To do so with due regard to the financial implications and limitations.
PROJECT SCOPE:
• Prepare 3 designs of company website home page which is user friendly and easy to
navigate Prepare computer for full website design
• Implement website
• Prepare a computerized ordering system that automatically computes prices of ordered
products
• Implement ordering system within the site
• Prepare training manual for maintaining the system
PROJECT DELIVERABLES
• Installed website with ordering system in a company computer server
• Documentation of the contents of the website
• Documentation for maintenance procedures, website updating and data gathering in the
ordering system.
• Training manual for the moderators
EXCLUSIONS:
• Firewall
• Security system that prevents users from accessing restricted areas of the website
• Security system programmed to block any user connecting from remote areas far from
any company branches
CONSTRAINTS:
• 6 month time limit for the completion
• No allocated budget, costs must be approved by the client
• Website must run on browsers not older than IE 6 and Firefox 3
• Server will be a computer with Windows 7 operating system (must not require a new
computer)
• Website client must be reinstallable
BUSINESS CASE:
• Project needs to be completed by the early months of year 2011 (approximately 6months,
depending which month the project will be started)
• Project will receive sustained support once 6 months lapsed
• All required personnel must participate and operate consistently throughout the execution
of the creation project
• Testing may require longer period of time therefore the project can launch a beta website
or a test website so that users that volunteered can report any errors in the website
• Overall cost of the project will be assessed by the funders, all budget will be allocated
and will be only expendable to the module they are allocated.
• This project paves the way of fast processing of orders making the company service
more customers and big restaurants etc.
• Website will have empty advertising windows that can be sold to other companies for
their advertisements.
• Kickoff meeting at the start of the project - designers describe our process, standards; get
information from clients on design
• Final review of site before launch - Client inspection of site to insure that when it is
launched it meets specifications
