Task
You and your team will research and develop develop a short presentation showcasing your biome..
Presentations are in the form of a digital slideshow (google slides).

Biome
You will be assigned one of the following biomes:
1. Taiga (coniferous forest)
2. Tundra
3. Tropical rain forest
4. Desert
5. Chaparral
6. Temperate grassland or prairie
7. Savannah (also listed as grasslands on some sites)
8. Temperate deciduous forest
9. Freshwater (lakes, rivers, or streams)
10. Ocean
11. Coral reef

What to include in the Presentation:


1. Intro Slide
a. Biome
b. Names
c. Period
2. Biome Location and Description
a. Description
b. Map
3. Description and effects of abiotic factors on biome.
a. How does the following abiotic factors lead to the formation/maintenance of your biome.
i. Temperature
ii. Precipitation
iii. Climate
iv. Latitude
b. 2+ interesting facts
4. Description and examples of biotic factors
a. Plant life (5+ major/dominant plants)
b. Animal Life (5+ major/dominant plants)

5. Pick 1 large animal that lives in this biome


a. Draw or put together with pictures a food chain with your chosen large animal at the end of
the food chain.
i. Example: What does your large animal eat? What does that animal eat? What does
that animal eat? What does that animal eat?
6. Every biome is being threatened in some way. What are the challenges (environmental issues) facing
the plant and animal populations in this biome?
a. What is being done to combat these issues?
b. 2+ Endangered Species & Why

Should be 18+ in size
Should not be flourescent, red or green
Should not be swirly but legible
Should not be written over a picture
Pictures
There should be a picture on each slide
The picture should match the topic of the slide
The picture should not make up the background but be on the side
The picture should not cover up the text

Turn It In

Submit through google classroom by Wednesday, September 14. Title should include
period.name1.name2.name3 (2_Joe.Suzy.Bob)
