THE GOOD LIFE/(Either) - Genius Is Random Trash - (Or) I Once Was Lost But
Now Ive Found Truth (Not Necessarily The Truth with a capital T but A truth
with a capital A) THE HOPE-FILLED PROMISE OF THINGS ONCE LOST
FUTURE HOPES DEPEND UPON FORGETTINGS/ FORGETTING (IS THE
    FUTURES ONLY HOPE) -
To instruct is to either literally, explicitly or implicitly educate i.e indoctrinate another
within ones own perceived world-views or ideologies. For Platonic Socratism, the art of
philosophical rhetoric approaches, indeed accesses or contacts rather, the good life.
As such, this project will intend to implicity approach a critique of the the good life
Western or First World ethics inherited or evolved from Platonic Socratism and its
concomitant economies of capitalist materialism, secular transcendentalism, metaphysical
secularism, desire, excess, use-value, artificial and symbolic obsolescence, consumption,
commodity fetishism, a disposable globalized consumer culture, salvation and
redemption.
Instructions might include: -
    1. Discover/find a discarded, forgotten or lost object that piques or captures your
       interest/imagination.
    2. Describe your response to it either in-situ via a post-it-note, lost or found notice or
on-line posting to a blog documenting the poject. I.e. what
       was/is/would/could/should it be? - For, descriptions/representations intransitively
have a habit of phantasmagorically transforming/transfiguring things into other
things. Include its origination whatever your understanding of this might mean
to you and the precise location of your discovery/find. Why might you be
attracted or interested? Imagine how or why it became lost and then found or
   discovered.
3. Text your find/discovery to an assigned telephone hotline number allocated
specifically for this project with details of its precise location and notice of your
on-line post. A twitter account will also operate. Or alternatively
submit/dispatch/deposit it at a site for exhibition.
Ideally, a real-time gallery installation might exhibit these once were lost but now
found objects, images and postings at least for the Fringe Festivals duration or at a
later date. Durational ritualistic incantations might be performed in-situ.
Less a tour than a performative trail, journey or promenade might peripatetically
traverse a trajectory of these archaeological/ethnological/sociological/artefactual
discoveries or finds and enlighten or illuminate as much as obfuscate. For, suspended
between truth and fiction; myth and reality, the excess remainder of
detritus/waste/rubbish sub/unconsciously animates the imaginative and aesthetic use-
value of cities and its communities.
A workshop might oscillate around loss as Event the Becoming of an accidental
micro-trauma, a small, tiny, miniscule catastrophe rupturing the rationality of each
individuals reality. Loss and its ritualistic mourning not only informs the radical
singularity and alterity of each subjectivity, but that of collective communities, cities
or socius. As such, fetishized and ritualistically monumentalized, loss becomes a
sensus communis approaching Nietzschean active forgetting and upon this
anamnestic remembering, recall or recollection discovers the accumulation of an
aesthetic use-value for loss and mourning itself.
Participants might be asked questions oscillating around representations of their own
personal losses, habitual rituals of mourning loss irrespective of their perceived
(in)-significance i.e lost personal effects etc. Upon sharing this with others these
rituals might be intimately performed either privately or publicly at a personally
significant site to be documented at the participants discretion for their own personal
private record or upon the research blog to the public.
