A very good morning to everyone and welcome to the first Spell-It-Right competition for English
Language Carnival 2017. My name is __________________ and I will be your host for today.
First and foremost, I would like to introduce our key people of this competition. They are Mdm.
Veronica and Mr. Mathew, our English teachers.
Now, I will explain the procedures of Spell-It-Right competition as well as its rules and regulations.
1. There will be 5 groups/ levels involved (Form 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5)
2. The contestants will be competing in their own level/form starting from form 1 until form 5.
3. Forms will be given out to each contestants to write down the words.
4. All of the contestants from the same level/form will compete at the same time.
5. Number of words given: 10 words.
6. Time taken to write each word: 2 minutes maximum.
7. The pronouncer will say the word aloud twice before the contestants can begin to write down
the spelling.
8. The contestants can asks for the meaning/definition of the words for clarification.
9. The winner will be judged by the most number of words spell correctly.
10. However, if there is a tie, additional words will be given as tie breaker.
Last but not least, the judges decisions are final. With that, I will let our pronouncer navigate this
competition in our quest of finding the champions of Spell-It-Right.
