Facilitated Place-Based education at Idahos only publicly operated K-12 residential
outdoor school. Provided experiential learning opportunities among students,
educators, scientists and citizens to foster the critical thinking skills necessary to
address complex social and ecological issues. Utilized various instructional
techniques such as the learning cycle to promote high quality instruction and a
collaborative, positive learning environment. Used technology in the classroom to
help students understand the scientific method, ecological principles, and conduct
research.
Physical Therapy Aide and Aquatic Specialist May 2014-August 2016

Provided excellent care for rehabilitation patients in clinic and therapeutic pool
settings by implementing treatment plans and setting up treatment modalities
and/or patient related tasks as appropriate. Taught water aerobic classes for
seniors and group classes for children with disabilities. Actively engaged in and

members, and other customers. Managed other aspects of clinic such as scheduling

Supervised and mentored 10 at-risk teens from the Portland community during
their third year of internship for the Zoo Animal Presenter program. Responsible for
hiring, training, scheduling, providing feedback and acknowledgement of the teen
interns. Coordinated and developed conservation education such as composting,
waste management, healthy eating, and wildlife management for teens to teach to
members of the greater public. Also arranged conservation projects for teens to
collaborate with regional government council, Metro. Arranged for project logistics
such as food, transportation, and equipment; Collaborated with other educational
staff at the zoo and offsite staff such as SUN school and boys and girls clubs staff.
Tracked and recorded number of people reached during education presentations.

Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center Lyons, Oregon
Developed and taught science curriculum to grades K-12, AP and college level
courses at wilderness-based facility and guided weekly overnight educational
backcountry trips for youth. Role included living and working with coworkers and
visitors to the center. Obtained vast knowledge of Pacific Northwest Old Growth
Forest natural history and ecology. Additional duties included providing customer
service to cabin renters and day hikers visiting the facility. During second season,
managed volunteer service project for youth and adults and directed group of 4
science instructors to ensure high quality of instruction. Additionally, maintained
supplies for outdoor education curriculum.
