Goals: (What To Solve?)

The document proposes integrating predictive maintenance modeling into the existing Windows Mixed Reality platform to improve maintenance efficiency in manufacturing. Currently, manual identification of faulty parts and following a static maintenance model increases downtime. The proposal suggests machines send real-time data to Azure and monitor parts for predicted failure thresholds. When thresholds are met, HoloLens guides replacement based on modeled instructions, reducing downtime and improving manufacturing efficiency.

Goals: (What to solve?

)-

After performing an extensive secondary research, it was found out that, although the existing features
of Windows Mixed reality platform with HoloLens can be used in various manufacturing plants for
maintenance of machine parts, it certainly had a lot of limitations. Initially it requires manual
intervention to identify the defective/faulty machine parts and then using the HoloLens and the
Windows Mixed Reality Platform, one can perform the sequence of activities already modeled in by
checking all of them. This is kind of a static model and increases the downtime of the machine
drastically.

Thus, we propose to integrate Predictive Maintenance based modeling on the top of the existing
Windows Mixed Reality platform to further increase the efficiency of the entire maintenance process in
manufacturing. The machine parts will be integrated with IOT and will constantly send real time data to
the Microsoft Azure. And using the MS Mixed Reality Platform and the existing hardware, one can
constantly monitor the real-time data and failure prediction of each of the machine parts (whether it is
60% or 70%). Each of these machine parts should have their individual threshold level of failure set out
dynamically (based on seasonality, machine components etc.), after which the parts should be replaced
based on the already modeled instruction set in the HoloLens. This will reduce the downtime drastically
and improve the efficiency of the entire manufacturing process seamlessly.
