To earn a promotion you must successfully complete a task or duty with above

someone has noticed something in you. Basically, youre better than someone else

4. Recently theres been a trend of people with a full 4 year bachelors degree
getting hired. Will probably strive for a degree as well because it opens up
other job opportunities. Also, it happens to be very competitive hiring process,
so if you hand in your resume with 30 credits, its going to the bottom of the
pile. However a bachelors degree will land near the top.
5. - In BC the tuition for a degree in criminology is around $4250-$6500 a year.
Depends on where you are attending. A bachelors in criminology has a $6500
tuition fee at SFU. It would be very smart to start saving, getting a job to avoid
student loans.
6. The best criminology programs that are offered in our area are at
SFU, UVIC, KPU and UFV All are bachelors.
Ive found out that there isnt criminology offered at UBC Although there is Law,
Psychology and classes similar to criminology. Sometimes, the most popular option
isnt always the best one to take for YOU.
7. Usually students that have above a %80 averages had the best chance of being
accepted (SFU). But there is no set number that will guarantee you being
accepted. Other things play a big role such as volunteering and getting involved
with your community. The best way to put it is dont expect to get in with 2
75% grades and 2 85% while sitting around at home. Do something
extracurricular! Being a policeman job is heavily based on human interaction.
8. Some of the individual or personal skills that are required of a policeman are,
- Courage, showing more bravery than the average person.
Integrity, being honest and showing strong moral principals
- Adaptability, you have to be able to adjust into different environments and
circumstances
- Critical Thinking, you must be able to think under pressure because people rely
on you
- Responsibility, you must be able to take ownership of something
9. As of 2016, there are over 70,000 police officers in all of Canada. There are
many chances of promotions and success as an officer. (Acts of Bravery etc.).
The outlook for employment is a 0.8% of annual demand growth rate (around
3000 jobs). 78% of the jobs will be created by replacement and 22% from
expansion. (Young Mens job)

12. 12 hour shifts can be very demanding for some people
- The job can be stressful for some people visually and physiologically
- Newer constables on patrol usually sit for long amounts of time.
- Heavy gear
Physiotherapy will be your best friend. LOL
13. - Dependable, courageous and a leader
- Everyday will be different and exiting
- Comradery of the police department relates to basketball, soccer etc.
-In addition, I cant see myself doing a job where Im staring at a paper or screen all
day like we all are right now. I want something exiting and new every day. This is the
perfect job for me.
14. Yes, the pay is great and the schedule isnt bad but, what propels me the most to this
job is the role model that I can be to other people, especially the youth. Sometimes, all
that people need is someone to lean on and I believe I would be someone dependable to
do so and being a police officer gives me the perfect platform to do that.
