DECLARATIVE
An assertive sentence is a sentence that
states a fact. Such sentences are simple
statements. They state, assert, or declare
something.
EXAMPLES:
1. Parrot is a beautiful bird.
2. Mohan planned a tour.
3. The Ganges is a holy river.
4. Ganguli is a fine batsman.
5. My father started a business.
IMPERATIVE
Imperative sentence is a sentence which
gives a command, makes a request, or
express a wish.
EXAMPLES:
1. Stand up when I speak to you. (order)
2. Press the button in order to activate
the machine. (instruction)
3. Do not touch it, it is hot! (warning)
4. Take a left at the corner. (advice,
suggestion)
5. Please don't go, I need you here.
EXCLAMATORY
Exclamatory sentence is a sentence that
expresses sudden and strong feelings, such
as surprise, wonder, pity, sympathy,
happiness, or gratitude.
EXAMPLES:
1. No!, You cannot dye the dog hair!
2. I dont want to go to grandmas house!
3. I scored three goals on soccer game!
4. I love you!
5. Were going to Hawaii!
INTERROGATIVE
Interrogative sentence: A sentence that asks a
question is called an interrogative sentence.
EXAMPLES:
1. Will you bring your book?
2. Did she pass the test?
3. Who broke the glass?
4. Where did they go?
5. What is your name?
