Time: 3 Hours Maximum Marks: 100

1. Find the hardness of the given material using Rockwell testing machine.

Determine the impact strength of the given specimen.(Izod test) (100)

2. Find the hardness of the given material using Brinell hardness testing machine.

3. Determine the youngs modulus of the beam. (100)

4. Perform the compression test on the given spring wire and find out its stiffness and rigidity
modulus. (100)

5. Using tension testing mechine determine the yield stress, ultimate stress, breaking stress,
percentage of reduction in area, percentage of elongation over a gauge length and young s
modulus for the given mild steel rod (100)

6. Find the shear strength of the given specimens(Mild steel and Aluminium) under double shear
method. (100)

7. Determine the impact strength of the given specimen.(Charpy method) Find the
shear strength of the given specimen under double shear method.

8. Perform the torsion test on the given specimen to find the following 1. Modulus of rigidity 2.

9. Determine the ultimate stress of the given specimen cube.

10. Determine the modulus of rigidity and stiffness of the given tension spring

11. Perform the heat treatment tempering on the given material C-40 steel and find

specimen or Quenched and tempered specimen and compare mechanical
properties. (100)

13.Perform the strain measurement of the given sample using Rosette strain gauge.

14. Find the shear strength of the given specimen under double shear method.
