Medusa Monologue

Medusa expresses her anger and frustration at being turned into a monster by Athena as punishment for kissing Poseidon. She recounts how it was Poseidon's doing that caused her to get caught in Athena's temple, and how she has been alone ever since with only the power to turn others to stone. Medusa laments that no one understands her feelings and that people only started hating her after she was turned into an ugly creature by Athena.

RD Medusa Monologue

Life is so tragic!! [ step right ] Athena turned me into a [ count to 2 ] mean, green,

turning people to stone [ flail arms out ] machine!!!! Dont [ lean on left leg ] forget the

snake hair!!! Maybe [ rise left shoulder and lean on left leg ] I shouldnt have been

kissing in Athenas precious temple, but its all [ flail both arms out ] Poseidons fault.

First off, [ lean on left foot, put hand on hip ] he made me fall in love with him against

my will. Im not saying I didnt like it though. Then, he got me caught kissing with him

in Athenas [ arms crossed ] temple!!! Why oh [flail arms out ] why?? I dont deserve

what I was turned into because it was all a spell. Alone, [ arms around stomach ] all my

friends turned to stone!! [arms out ] Help me!! I mean I dont need [stomp right ]

anyones help. Im fine by myself. Whoever worships Athena or Poseidon will [ lean out

] be stone!! Perseus is despicable just like his father. I knew [ lean out hands stretched out

] Poseidon still loved me until Perseus beheaded me. I want nothing [ hammer fist against

hand ] to do with the gods!!! No one understands how [ flail left] I feel!! Why cant [ flail

right] I be appreciated for who [ point at self ] I am?? Just [ fold hands across chest ]

because Im ugly people started hating me!! My only weapon is turning people to stone!!

Leave [stomp right, flail both arms ] before I turn [ point at audience ] you to stone!!!
