I am runnig an Oracle 9 database on Windows NT server.

For some reason the Oracle Services that was seen in the Services Window of the
Control Panel disappeared.I could see the regedit is safe and the Database is
running.How do I get the services to appear on the service window.

doesn't matter, but on a production machine, where there are users accessing the
database, it is like killing the processes or like shutdown abort.

Hi Mark,

The name of the utility from the NT Resource Kit you can use is "sc.exe". The
syntax is:

sc delete service name

If the service name contains spaces, make sure you wrap it with double quotes (").
If you don't have the utility, follow the steps Ganesh indicated.

Hello,

I have an issue with Shared Services 931. My OpenLDAP and Shared Services will
start fine. I am using TomCat as deployment of the service.

When i login as admin, i goto the User Directories and try to expand (click on the
+ sign) and it says loading. Then i checked the logs and i see this in there.
"Unable to get css.xml file or file maybe read only". I check the file css.xml and
it is not read only. I have even configured using another Oracle Schema, but still
no luck.

Has anyone seen this before ?

what should I do with this listener? I am try to create listener through network

when there two oracle servers in one OS : the oracle Agent from both of them will
fight , so the result the agent cannot decide. use only one oracle in one OS.

It seemed to install without any problem.
But whenever i try to connect through sql plus or use the database configuration
assistant to create a database I get a tns adapter error in the database
initialization stage.
in the services panel I find these servicess r running

OracleOraHome811TNSListener
The other two service installed but not running and configured for manual action
are:
OracleOraHome811ClientCache
OracleOraHome811DataGatherer

I think there should be a service named OracleOraHome811OracleService or something

like that. Can anyone please help me what's the problem ?

create a customized database, once defined save your creation scripts, those will
be manually executed so the process can be debugged and it can be seen where the
main error lies.

services using adstpall.cmd and adstrtal.cmd scripts.

To resolve this, you need to reconfigure the "Oracle Application Testing Suite
Helper Service" (OATSHelperSvr) to start as a user who has privledges to run open
script tests rather than the default SYSTEM user.
Reconfiguring the OATSHelperSvr Service:
1. Open the services panel (Start Run services.msc)
2. Find the Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service
3. Right Click Properties then select the Log On Tab
4. Specify an interactive user that has rights to run OpenScript (test by logging
in as that user and running tests):
5. Click OK
6. Restart the service after dialogs are closed by Right Click Restart
7. You should now repeat this process for the "Oracle Application Testing Suite
Agent Service" (eLoadAgentMon) Service (Two services in
total)
You should now retry running the test in Oracle Test Manager

Yuo can try to uninstall and re-install Browser Helper.The uninstall and install

Can I ask you to stop all services and delete all the files located in

C:\OracleATS\EmpAppServer\logs\

Then restart the servers and post the contents of the EmpStart.log file here.

Please do that for both systems controller and agent.

The Oracle service can be started on services control panel, but when I try to
connect to sqlplus or any other client I receive this error:

Is there any thing I can do or Oracle should be reinstalled?

If I have to reinstall Oracle will the new installation recognize the installed
databases or I will have to load a backup?

Check your log files. ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/error_log
ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/logs/jserv.log or mod_jserv.log
Jserv sometimes starts before the database starts on startup(Oracle 8i takes
forever to start) on NT. The simple solution is to restart the service(http service
that is).

Cursor to be used (and very easily) loaded into an ADO RecordSet or to be Bound to
a Control, is anything similar possible with Web Services?
I think I have seen posts about using ODP.NET with Microsoft's IIS, but I would
rather use the Oracle Application Server.

In 10.1.3, it looks like

java -jar $ORACLE_HOME/webservices/lib/wsa.jar -plsqlAssemble...

I am using Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.6.0.0. with windows2000

professional. The problem is that the database does not start automatically when I
reboot the machine. The status in service panel is indicating starting instead of
started.

I delete the password file , and drop the OracleServiceMYDB service then reboot the
machine and recreate the password file and OracleServiceMYDB.

C:\orapwd file=C:\Oracle\Ora81\DATABASE\pwdMYDB.ora password=mydb entries=5

C:\ORADIM -NEW -SID MYDB -INTPWD mydb -STARTMODE a -PFILE
C:\Oracle\admin\MYDB\pfile\initMYDB.ora
The instance is started and connected to mydb database. now I am able to connect
and work with the database The status in service panel is indicating started for
OracleServiceMYDB service now every thing is ok, but when I reboot the machine, I
got OracleServiceMYDB starting but never started and got my old problem.

The following parameter is introduced into my windows registry as I drop and

recreate the service using ORADIM utility

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0

ORACLE_SID"="MYDB
ORA_mydb_AUTOSTART= TRUE

By default OracleServiceMYDB service use LOCALSYSTEM account to login as a service.

When I change the service to login as administrator the service is started when I
reboot the machine and the problem is solved. but not as localsystem account.
For OracleOraHome81TNSListener and other services the localsystem is working very
well.
why this happened ?

Hi,

I think the whole point is that you shouldn't need to have drive mapping to create
your services, you should be able to connect to the db and get your vo's and
services generated.

I don't believe that development should be done on a remote server, but you should
be able to at least do introspection and even setup the localhost database without
work arounds like vpn.

I have installed Oracle beehive 1.4.0 and am trying to configure it for email
services. After installing Oracle Database,Beehive, Beehive zimbra connector,
Beekeeper what else do i need to do ? Is there any configuration that i need to
update before i can use email service.
In the control panel it show email service is up and running.

If i try to send email i get this error:

msg - system failure null

code - service.FAILURE
method - ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
detail - soap:Receiver

What does this mean ?

I installed Oracle 8.1.6 Personal Edition on WinXP. It works fine. Then I installed
Form Developer (6i), it's also fine. But later when I tried to install Report
Developer, the problem came up, saying "SQL*Net is being used" and can not continue
the installation. I shut down all oracle application and service, but it keeps
saying I should shut down all services using Net8.

I don't know what the problem is. How can I find out the service associate with
Net8? (I used control panel/service to shut down the oracle service)

Any help is appreciated!

Hi,
I never worked on sqlserver so i do not have much idea.But In oracle there are two
type of user authentication :OS authentication and password file
aunthentication.there are some default acoount created with DBA or user privileages
like sys, system and scott etc.
sys ans system are the user with dba previleages.and scott is a normal user.
so in case you want to connect, you can use any of them.
you can read any administartor guide from oracle press or can download documents
from

Hi all, i have a problem in backing up oracle 10g database.

First of all, my Server met with a system crash. I have successfully repair the OS
(i'm using windows 2000 server). However, i found that i could not start the oracle
service as the oracle service could not be found in the administrative tools
services(which can be found by going to control panel, administrative tools,
services)

Right now the existing oracle still exists in my system. Not deleted. Just couldn't
start the service. I install a fresh copy of Oracle in my system.
Now i want to backup my data and transfer to the new oracle.

However without starting the oracle service, i could not create the dump file.
Anyone can advise me how to backup the data and transfer to the new Oracle?

We have windows host x64 bit. Oracle is 10g 32 bit and we want to migrate it to 10g
64 bit.

1. We have installed the 64bit oracle software.

2. Then we uninstalled the 32bit software. With the uninstallation, the oracle
services have also disappeared.

Now, there are no Oracle services seen under My Computer - Manage - Services, how
to create the new Oracle services??

Thank you for your reply. We have managed to re-create the Oracle Services in other
way as mentioned below. May be useful for other users:

1. Stop the DB, stop listener, stop other oracle processes.

2. Install the new DB software in a different home + Patch

3. Only after that, delete the old software.

4. Set the Environment variables $ORACLE_HOME and $PATH

(Nicht alle Variablen waren sauber gesetzt)

5. copy the files present under $ORACLE_HOME/database from old DB to new DB.

6. Create the Listener - Service with $ORACLE_HOME/bin/netca

7. Create the SID - Service with oradim ($ORACLE_HOME/bin)

oradim -NEW -SID FFF -STARTMODE auto -SRVCSTART system

8. start the database using sqlplus.

9. As the wordsize changes with 64-bit, all pl-sql-predures should be recompiled.

Therefore please run the following two scipts on db-level:

sqlplus sys as sysdba

sql @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlip.sql -invalidates all plsql-procedures

sql @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql -recreates the plsql-procedures with the

new word size.

10. Offline - Backup with brbackup.

Hello,
I was given a machine with Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 already
installed in Windows Server 2003. Then, I installed Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g.

I had problem when I tried to start Oracle HTTP Server. If I go through Control
Panel, open Services, and select OracleOraHome92HTTPServer, the following message
is showed:
"The service OracleOraHome92HTTPServer on Local Computer started and then stopped.
Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the
Performance Logs and Alerts service."

I also tried "Start HTTP Server powered by Apache" provided as an option from
Oracle's menu. As a result, I got this error message:
"Perl lib version (v5.6.1) doesn't match executable version (5.00503) at
E:\warehouseBuilder\perl\5.6.1\lib\MSWin32-x86/Config.pm line 18.
..."

How can I fix this problem?

same problem here.

I had the 9i installation all working on a laptop, created, configured and used the
database and http listener for a while and then installed 10G rel 1 database.
That's where the trouble began.
I found out that apache uses the PERL5LIB environment variable, which is changed by
10g. Using a command box and setting the PERL5LIB environment variable to the
appropriate path, the http listener start without any problem.
No idea though how to set it at startup time, but still working in that one.

I've removed the following service "Recording Playback Service" from Cisco Desktop
Administrator page , and I want to reinstall it again , cisco document say to check
the CAD installation guide but I've never seen any line talking about how to return
this service again , the following is what cisco doc say:

1. Start the removed service. If you uninstalled the service, reinstall it. See
the Cisco CAD InstallationGuide for information on installing CAD services. If you

get a 12560 error. Is the Oracle (Sid) Service in Windows control panel the only
way to startup/shutdown in this configuration?

In HFM server, is it necessary to start the following services in Control Panel:

1. Hyperion Financial Management - DME Listener

2. Hyperion Financial Management - Management Service
3. Hyperion Financial Management - Web Service Manager

The management service is optional. I recommend leaving this not started unless you
are experiencing very long startup times for your application (longer than 30
seconds or so). This condition is very rare. If you start this service, HFM will
launch into memory every application which exists in your database. For Oracle
databases this is often an issue since each application opens roughly 40 pooled
connections per server. So 3 applications on 2 servers would cause Oracle to have
about 240 connections open at all times. Certainly do not start this service in any
environment other than production.

You should keep the web service started of course, and the DME listener is a
process used to support EPMA applications and data movement between applications
using Shared Services.

absence of the web service classes in AS3. As far as I can tell,
the Adobe Developer Team will implement them eventually, but
unfortunately this has not yet been confirmed by Adobe.

I would very much like to know if the web service classes

will be coming and if possible an approximate timeframe.

The only proper solution I have seen so far is to use

compiled swc's, which is a very download heavy solution.

Our business rely heavily on web services, and the old AS2
WebService classes and the web service panel, was a great
implementation, inspite a few bugs in the system :)

Long story short; Will web services be implemented in AS3 by

Adobe, or do I need to look elsewhere for a solution?

That doesn't sound quite right to me, at least not the way
I'm seeing it
put together. AMFPHP does what SOAP does, literally. It does
it using a
different message format (AMF instead of the XML-based SOAP),
but the uses
and applications of both are the same. AMF is smaller and
faster and
Flash-only, and AMFPHP is one of the few "break-out" projects
that allows
you to use this binary format without having to run a
ColdFusion server.
However, running AMFPHP and SOAP side-by-side seems to me to
be duplicating
functionality.

That's not to say this can't be done; I'm sure it's 100
feasible, just
seems somewhat redundant. Was there a specific application
that you were
aiming to use this on? If you're looking for something fast,
small, easy to
maintain, easy to deploy, scalable, adaptable (not limited to
Flash and
PHP), and unique, I wrote something very similar called XMLs
(XMLserialization). It sends data back and forth from Flash
to/from PHP. It
also has the unique feature of allowing remote method
invokation
bi-directionally. Flash can invoke server methods, PHP can
invoke Flash
methods. Right now, all web services are invoked on the
server only. I
integrated an older 128-bite encryption library which, from
what I
understand, no remoting or web services platform currently
offers. I'm
working on whole-system serialization so that I can transfer
and
store/retrieve any Flash content like MovieClip instances,
audio data, or
anything else I can stick in a byte array. Also, a big bonus
from my point
of view, it's 100% free and open source (LGPL). If nothing
else, I could
point you to the code sections where the magic happens and
you could rip out
what you wanted. It is actually simple and easy to
understand. It still
needs a bit more work but it's not far off from what I would
consider 100%
complete.

first of all, listener is a server process, which listens for incoming calls, you
don't have it on a client.

Secondly, the service you created with Net Configuration Assistant is just an alias
you'll use to connect a remote database to, and does not create any Windows
service. You can find its specifications within tnsnames.ora file, in
ORACLE_HOME\network\admin directory.

Hi All,

I've an oracle 8i database on Windows 2003 server.

We've recently moved it behind firewall and make sure port 1521 is open.
But Listener service is not starting up.
I've started the command prompt and go to lsnrctl, then fire command start.
All I'm getting 'starting tnslistener: please wait' and on services panel it has
shown as started.
But as message suggested the listener service is not started.

Any idea what's the issue and how to fix it?

Able to resolve the issue finally.
I've noticed that PFILE parameter was not set in registry.
So, I've added it and restarted the server and voila.
Though, I wonder how was the DBA maintaining it.

It's nice it worked, but this work around will allow you to proceed with the sysdba
connection, but there still remains a missconfiguration that should be properly
troubleshooted, As the connect / as sysdba is by default enabled.

It doesn't work if you have an account with insufficient privileges, make sure it
belongs to the ORA_DBA group, either a locally authenticated or a domain
authenticated account must meet this requirements to be authenticated by the OS for
Oracle.

I have installed Oracle 9iAS on Window NT - 4. While
installing the report server started succesfully. After this the
machine was restarted but the report server did not start giving
the following error:
Oracle Report Server (servername) service returned service
specific error 186.

This is when we tried to start the report server from the

control panel services.

Kindly help asap since the deployment is pending b'coz of this.

Another thing we checked with tnsnames.ora file and the entry
there seems to be valid.
The format is like
Rep60_server_name = Rep60_server_name

Is there any location pointed by the tnsname

Seeing the error log file the message is as follows:

Deamon failed to listen

I am unable to get the configuration for the same. Kindly let me

know the configuration.

I have installed 10g in Win 2000. Enterprise manager was working fine after
installation. I restarted the Oracle Service (DB Service, TNS, iSQL, DBControl)
from services in Control Panel. Database is up and working fine but the Enterprise
Manager is not working. When I am trying to use the EM through Internet Explorer,
it is not asking for any login and showing as database as down. I am able to
connect to DB from client PC. Please advice.

Ya I have changed the passwords of the two users mentioned by you. Also the
LISTENER is working fine.Then you need to change them in EM config after changing
it in the database. See Note:259379.1 on changing the SYSMAN password. Then change

installed management tools.
client tools etc..

I had been having problems getting the MC to connect to the service...

Now after many re-installations... I no longer have the MC service showing up in my

services panel, nor is the tns listener installed any longer...

I did remove everything oracle and reinstalled from scratch but still no joy.
Has anyone had this issue? I can't even find where the tns listener service is
installed from. Or I can't find the MC service either...

I am trying to start the the Oracle Management Server from the NT control panel
services and get error 2140 - an internal NT error occurred. This is the first time
I tried to configure and start OMS. I tried the import wizard but it says I must
have OMS but the service won;t even start in the control panel. It is a 9i
database.

I finally got a response out of Oracle for my TAR. Our network administrator was
not configuring the "DNS" correctly. I had to get my network admin guy enter the
machine I was trying to run the OMS into "DNS" and now the service will run and I
can connect the OEM console to the OMS. I was referred by the Oracle support
emgineer to the Oracle Intelligent Agent Users Guide, Release 9.0.1 in the
troubleshooting chapter Additional Checks. "It shows how to determine if TCP/IP is
configured and running correctly." The section on checking the DNS is not clear so
they outlined the following how to check for it. "The agent requires hostname
resolution. If you do an nslookup of the hostname and of the IP Address, it needs
to resolve to the same name. You need to be able to resolve the hostname from the
Management Server and the Agent machines as described.":

I tried to uninstall my current Oracle Express XE database installation through

Control-Panel-Add or Remove Programs Section of my WinXP system.
When I try to start the de-installation then a popup appears informing me about
something similar to:

The installation cannot be continued because the service OracleServiceXE is already

existing. Remove service, restart system and repeat installation

Hmm, why does Oracle think I want to install Oracle database and does not recognize
the start of the uninstallation process? The services were automatically installed
during the installation in the past. So I expect that the uninstallation process
should remove them automatically as well.

How can I from cmdline uninstall the Oracle database otherwise?

If everything fails: How can I manually remove the service "OracleServiceXE" ?

What about the other services like TNSlistener ?

BTW: They are all currently NOT running. SHould I start tehm for uninstallation?

Remove oracle home folder and then clear the registry related to oracle. In the
registry search for unistall directory, locate the entry for oracle and delete it.

Reboot the machine. Everything will be cleared.

The "Database Name" is actually your Database SID or the Service Name. If you have
installed XE, it would be XE by default. You can check this out in Control Panel -
Services - you will notice an ORCL Service with the name appended with XE.

XE does not come with the OLAP or Data Mining or Partitioning options you can't use
Oracle Discoverer OLAP. You can have a look at a post on the Oracle Business

After doing that, I am getting JInitiator 1.3 Fatal Error "The Java Runtime
envireonment cannot be loaded from C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator
1.3.1.22\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll.
And one more thing to add I am not seeing any services related to Oracle in the
"Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools\Services". Is it
causing the problems to run the form.
If yes could you please suggest me how to start the services as there are no
services in the services list.

Hi,

Usually, our oracle servers can start up autometically

when the machine start up.
Just now, oracle services cannot start. I try use
start-control panel-administrator tool- services to
start oracle service, it gets errors as following:
could not start the OracleOraHome90TNSListener service on
local computer.
Error 5: Access is denied.

Then I try to use "lsnrctl start listener"

I got following errors:

Failed to start service, error 5.

TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error
I check listener log file, no new message is add to it.

My OS is window 2000 professional.

Oracle server version: 9.0.1.1.1

I try to fix it by change log on setting by

setting the oracle service as 'this account' and
fill in account and password with system administrator
account information. Then all oracle services can work
properly. But with this setting the web application which
connect oracle database cannot login to database.
It may be the registry database of the machine get
corrupted.
How can I delete all oracle services and recreate the
them again, then will re-register the service information?

By the way, all other services in system are log on as

localsystem account, only oracle services does not allow
me set up as localsystem account, if I did that way, oracle service will not start
and complain "error 5:
access is denied"

Ive installed OiD from CD Oi8 v 8.1.6 for W2000. Im able to connect to the OiD with
Oracle Directory Manager.
3 services are running :
-OracleDirectoryService Started
-OracleOraHome81TNSListener Started
-OracleServiceOIDDB1 Started
BUT. After restarting my server is this situation:
-OracleDirectoryService
-OracleOraHome81TNSListener Started
-OracleServiceOIDDB1 Starting
Im not able to start OracleServiceOIDDB1 service, it is still STARTING !!!

My configuration:
W2000 SP1 with no Oracle products

Ive used this installation plan:

- Control Panel, System, , NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
- Install from CD Oracle Internet Directory, Perform Typical Configuration (new
database OIDDB1 is created)
- All services are running

After installation OiD Im able to stop and start oidmon (C: oidmon stop), (C:
oidmon connect=oiddb1 start), but Im not able to start and stop oidctl.
If I run DOS oidctl connect=oiddb1 stop
I get only help, how to use oidctl.

Where could be a problem ?

The Agent and TNSListener services can not run automaticaly when system startes.If
run Agent service by hand in control panel,system prompt 3221356559 error
message.If run TNSListener service in control panel,system prompt none.But after

We have been creating all of our web services from pl/sql packages in our Oracle
database using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I understand that this capability is not
supported in Jdev 11. We have been mandated to either move up to JDeveloper 11, or
consider switching to eclipse, or even VS2008 and run .NET services from IIS. I
have seen work-around solutions using TopLink and Jdev 11. Are there plans to
revive this feature in the near future? We're now looking at switching to .NET
since we could scrap our OAS instances and use IIS to publish web services. The
only reason we were sticking with Oracle was the ease in converting all our
existing package to web services with Jdev.

Is anyone else in the same situation. If so, what solutions are you considering?

I have installed Oracle 9i Rel 1 with datewarehousing option. I have also installed
following patches as required for BIBEANS:
DATA SERVER PATCH : 9.0.1.3.0 Patch set for Oracle Data Server (ID: 1564667 Patch
set: 2271678)
OLAP PATCH: 9.0.1.2.1 Patch set for Oracle OLAP (ID: 1713151 Patch set: 2386663)

But when ever I try starting Oracle OLAP 9.0.1.0.1 service from control panel under
WIN 2k I get an error stating its error 2.

And when ever I start olap service from OEM(Enterprise Manager) I get following
error:

XPINSMGR-10565

saying that olap service is not installed so OSIM cannot be started.

I have also performed other operations as changing the DependOnService key value
and other steps. But the above problem persists. I am just able to start Olap Agent
but not Oracle Olap 9.0.1.0.1

any pointers and suggestions will be highly useful.

We are going to need more information to figure this out. We will need to take a
look at your logs. Here are the steps to create them:

Please change the path to fit into your environment.

- Set a SYSTEM environment variable

variable: OES_EA_STARTUP
value: -LogOutput=VDBG

- Reboot the PC
- Stop OLAP Agent if it's running
- Edit a registry key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
[Software\ORACLE\OLAP\ExpressServer\OLAPServer\I/O Management]
EventLogPath = (REG_SZ) "c:\oracle\ora90\olap\OLAPServer\log"

- Create the corresponding directory if there isn't.

- Rename the following log files for backup
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\OLAPServer\log\OLAPService.log
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\log\OLAPServicesAgent.log

- Make sure that Oracle and tnslistener service are running

- Make sure that you can connect as olapsvr/instance in sqlplus
- Start Oracle OLAP Agent from services applet
- Start OLAPServer from services applet
- The following two files will be generated.
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\OLAPServer\log\OLAPService.log
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\log\OLAPServicesAgent.log

Starting service start the database in open mode, if you have to start the db in an
other mode, you have to disable the autostart first.

OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener service does not start. If started manually, it
automatically gets stopped.
As result, if I connect to Orcale 10 database through Java, I get Network Adapter
error.
what I need to do for OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener service to start after
clicking 'Start' on it through Services in Control Panel/Admin Tools

Can you try

c:\ ping uc-52b3c4f41f58.erc-wireless.uc.edu

Looks like your system is not able to resolve the hostname. You can probably try
adding hostname in the hostfile located at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Also do check the eventlog for more information.

To delete the Oracle service ,you need to issue this command from command prompt.

Assume that you need to delete the service of database test

c: oradim -delete -sid test

This command will delete your Oracle service

Anyways, if you are on Windows then, you can check the processes by navigating to
Services.

Start--Settings--Control Panel--Performance and Maintenance--Administrative Tools--

Services.

There, you will find Oracle processes starting with Oracle.

On Linux, you can check the Oracle processes using " ps " command
# ps -ef | grep pmon

ever. If exist any that never used it,
we can plan their elimination because Oracle performance would be the same. But i
dont know if oracle have any view, log, ... that give me
this information or on the other hand, the only option that i see, is monitoring
the windows process activity.

I had installed an Oracle 9.2.0.0 in a Windows environment. But when a saw the
Windows services in the control panel I saw that the listener service's didn't
appear!!!!

Now I can connect to my Database.

Can I create the listener by myself or I will have to re-install?

Is there anybody can help me find the newest version of Forms and Reports Services
10.1.3.x on Oracle
download. I have successfully converted our 6i forms to 10g forms, I installed
Forms and Reports Services
10.1.2.0.2 to service our forms and reports, not the whole AS 10g. I have seen the
version of AS version
10.1.3.3.0, where can I find the same version of Forms and Reports Services?

10.1.2.0.2 is the newest current release with Forms Reports. 10.1.3 is just J2EE.
There are the 10.1.2.2 and 10.1.2.3 patches for 10.1.2.0.2 that both have many
patches for the Forms server. The next release of Forms and Reports server will be
bundled with OAS 11g. There is currently no release date for OAS 11g. I have read
about beta versions, but they are currently only avalliable to Oracle people.

Hi all,
i want set the login name and password or services.msc file for all oracle
services.
My database is oracle 10g r2.
Os is windows server 2003.

Below is a listing of the Oracle services:

Oracle Agent
Oracle Client Cache
Oracle Data Gatherer
Oracle HTTP Server
Oracle Paging Server
Oracle Listener
Oracle Database
i did the following steps:

1) Open up the 'Control Panel'.

2) Open up 'Administrative Tools'.
3) Open up 'Services'.
4) Under the list of services, find the service to modify.
5) Verify that this service runs as LocalSystem by checking the 'Log On As' column
for this service.
6) Right-click on the service to modify and choose 'Properties' from the pop-up
menu.
7) Select the 'Log On' tab.
8) Select the 'This account' radio button.
9) Fill in the account under which this process should run under the 'This account'
section or use the 'Browse' button.
10) Fill in the password for the account under the 'Password' and 'Confirm
password' sections.
11) Click on the 'OK' button.
12) If the value for this service under the 'Status' column is 'Started', right-
click on the service and choose 'Restart' from the pop-up menu.

I followed the above mentioned setps to change the logon account and password for
all oracle services.
But after setting the username and pwd i can't connect the database.
while i try to connect the database or ping the datasbase using tnsping commnad i
got the bellow error message

ORA-12547 TNS lost Contact.

My question is
1.what this error means. what i do clear the issues. i need to set a logon name and
pwd.?
2. if i set the logon name and pwd waht will happen after that?

I have seen some sites that has some of good exposed web services like currency
conversion, getTickerQuote etc. Basically, one can use these WSDL files in SOA web
service adapter and directly use it AS service.

I was wondering if there is any site --- that has exposed the Oracle EBS or
PeopleSoft or Siebel interfaces AS web service that one can use in his sample SOA
application for practice ? Any information appreciated.

As someone stated up above, in Siebel, if you want to expose a form as a web
service, you have an option of generating a wsdl file on the same page. Generate
the wsdl and call this WSDL file in your BPEL process to post the data.

I have installed Oracle 8.1.6 R2 on Window NT4.0 Server. My machine has 18GB HDD
and 512MB RAM.
When I tried to logon to Oracle Enterprise Manager using enterprise Manager
console, the following error message
"VTK-1000: Unable to connect to management server. Please verify that you have
entered correct host name and status of the oracle management server."
When I checked up in the win NT server OracleManagementserver service was not
started. When I tried to start this service the following error occured.
"Could not start the OracleManagementserver service on \\Computer_name.
Error 2140: An internal windows NT error occured"
Some how I am unable to start OracleManagementserver service from Control
panel/services.
Can any body help me to solve this problem.

I have installed Oracle 8.1.6 R2 on Window NT4.0 Professional. My machine has 17GB
HDD and 128MB RAM.
When I try to start my Oracle Management Server from Control Panel-Services, it
gives error like this

windows NT error occured."

Some how I am unable to start OracleManagementserver service from Control

panel/services. As per the manual, we can import/export data only through OMS. I
need to know how we can solve this error, so that we can start running our software

specific user, which is set as LocalSystem, and I choose that, close
the window, then re-open it, and it's unselected again and "use this

Is there any way to find the default name/pw if "sysman/oem_temp"

doesn't work? And would "sysman/oem_temp" work if I were logged in
either as Administrator, or as the previous user who set this up?

browser was opening but the script was not going through.
After that i saw in the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - services, service :
"Oracle Application suite Application Service" was stopped.I started the service
again,

this error is displayed

Windows could not start the Oracle Application suite Application Service service on
Local computer

Error 1053:The service did not respond to the start or control request in a Timely
fashion.

I restarted the system then this service was up and with out restarting the system
i was not able bring the service up.
Can some body have a look on this
