Brief instructions 1.Go to https://wiggio.com

numbers.
8. If you want to start a discussion you can go to the box that has a text
message shape and says start conversation and click on it.
9. A box will show up and you can type in that box what you want to talk
about.

tool can be used With SOL 9.3 in World History of Geography, students will explore and
in PK-12 understand the significance of religion in western society. Key Concepts
include: a.) Describing and analyzing the cause and effect of the
theological conflicts, controversial laws, and policies that follow. b.)
Describing changes in cultural values and traditions. The students can
use this tool to start a conversation or debate about the history of
political policies regarding prayer in American Public schools. To ensure
that everyone participates, the teacher could place students in groups of
4 and give each member 2 flash cards apiece. There would be one
question on each flash card with a group members name on the back.
One student will read and type out the question that he wants a group
member to answer. A student whose name shows up on the flash card
could answer that question by typing in a long opinionated answer. With
SOL 10.10 in World Geography students will examine how social control
creates territorial division throughout Earths surface. Key concepts
include: a.) Describing and interpreting the motives of political leaders.
B.) Understanding the importance of land ownership; For example, the
Europeans who discovered the Americas. Teachers can give students
group assignments on the Europeans in the Americas. Teachers can have
students answer questions about events that allowed them to gain
territorial control. Or she can give them reading assignments on this

information within the tool. In SOLS for 8th graders, World History and
Geography to 1500, teachers can upload files of reading assignments
and worksheets to help students prepare for high school geography.

instance, you can join a study group or group that specifically does

Negatives: 1. The site is sort of difficult to use, but the instructor can
provide instructions that can overcome the difficulty as I have listed
above.
2. If students are doing collaborative assignments, whatever a student
posts to another student will show up in that students email which
allows for them to have side conversations that have nothing to do with
the assignment.
3. Wiggio is deciding to shut down free service in November, unless your
school uses D2L (Desire to learn management system) which is similar to
Blackboard.

that led to the Civil War. The teacher can allow students to choose how
each member will contribute to the timeline project. Teachers can create
quizzes on this information and allow students to come up with ideas of

how to arrive to the correct answer for each question.
In SOLS for seniors who are learning about Virginia and the U.S.
government, teachers can give students articles to read and analyze.
Students can also use these articles and other documents in uploaded
files to site primary and secondary sources. The teacher can have them
do this in Chicago style. She could upload examples of how to site
newspapers, websites, and online articles.

Challenges: 1. This site is very limited in the variety of tools that
students can use. For example, if a student wanted to create a collage of
historical events, it would be very difficult because there arent many
tools available (e.g. shapes to create designs).
2. Its not a fun design.
3. There arent many tutorials available for inexperienced
users.
