Entanglement Teleportation

1) Quantum mechanics allows for quantum entanglement and non-locality, where two particles that interacted remain connected regardless of distance. 2) Experiments have found violations of Bell's inequality, suggesting quantum systems are not determined before measurement and disproving theories of local hidden variables. 3) Quantum teleportation works by preparing one particle in the exact quantum state of another particle, allowing the transfer of that quantum information across any distance.

FROM QUANTUM

ENTANGLEMENT TO
TELEPORTATION

TELEPORTATION
Introduction

Quantum physics : only justification of the fact that

matter is not collapsing on itself

Macroscopic objects are not collections of micro-objects

but combinations of entities that are not objects themselves

Quantum mechanics formalism only permit to obtain

probabilistic results Classical mechanics

Determinism of distribution
Wave function collapse

In abscence of observation : the evolution of the wave

function (probability wave) describing the state of a particle or a
system obeys the time-dependent Schrdinger equation

Deterministic and reversible

At the time of observation : the wave function collapses, i.e.

the outcome of the measure is one among all the possibilities
carried out by the anterior wave function

Irreversible and probabilistic (non-deterministic)

Interpretations
Realism : the world exists independently of the observer

Idealism : the collapse of the wave function is due to

consciousness

Syncrethism : matter and mind are two aspects of a unique

reality

Positivism : impossible to say that there is or not a reality

independant of the observer
Copenhagen interpretation = positivism + empiricism
Bohr: Einstein:
Before one Do you believe
measures the electron the Moon is not
position there no there unless we're
sense in even asking looking at it?
where it is
EPR Paradox
Realistic view of Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen

Paper claiming that particles do not choose randomly

between one feature and another

Theory of hidden features

Contradicts the
Heisenberg uncertainties

Quantum theory is
incomplete
Bohm suggestion and Bell's inequality

Abandon the continuous features of position and velocity

to concentrate on ones who have only two possible values
(such as spin for instance)

Bell's inequality relies on the, apparently reasonable,

fact that there is no reason why the photons emission
would depend on the orientation of the measurement
devices

If EPR were correct, the results found by two widely

separated detectors measuring certain particule properties
would have to agree more than 50% of the time
Aspect experiment

Elimination of possible influences of the detector on the source or

on any device on another

Violation of Bell's inequality

Interpretation and Non-locality

State of the photon is not determined before

measurement

Two quantum systems that once interacted are described

by a unique wave function no matter how far from each
other they get

Violation of the notion of space, i.e. long range

quantum connection can bypass spatial separation

The universe is not local

Teleportation
Two ways :
- Transport of the molecules and atoms
- Replica built using molecules located at the receiving
place

Quantum particles are undistinguishable but for their

quantum states (probability of various properties)

If you start with one particle located here and put

another one overthere in the same exact state, they are
indistinguishable

This is quantum teleportation
