What if?

EXT. CASTRO CAFE LAWNS OUTSIDE M.F. HUSSAIN ART GALLERY. DAY

Abida, Alyka, Fatima and Lakshya leave for their homes after relaxing at the Castro Cafe after
classes. Abida swerves towards the M.F. Hussain Art Gallery, as a notepad hung on its door
has caught her attention, and others follow suit. Over the head of the notepad is painted,What
are your biggest regrets in life? On some pages people have written their regrets while others
are torn off. They too share their regrets, and tear off the pages.
Abida writes,Leaving radio production. Alyka writes,Not following my passion for writing.
Fatima writes,Surrendering to the fear of being on stage. Lakshya writes,Giving up on myself.
They leave.

INT. ABIDAS HOSTEL ROOM. NIGHT.

Abida is weighed down heavily as she looks at her sheet of paper which carries her statement
of regret.
(Flashback) Abida stammers during her radio show due to nervousness.

INT. LITERATURE SECTION IN ZAKIR HUSSAIN LIBRARY. NIGHT.

Alyka, distressed by her statement of regret, is gnawed by feelings of inadequacy as she looks
at the vast shelves of novels by the British canonical writers.
(Flashback) Alyka reads her poems to an unresponsive audience.

INT. FATIMAS ROOM. NIGHT.

Fatima stares at herself in a mirror.


(Flashback) Fatima breaks down during a performance.

INT. LAKSHYAS ROOM. NIGHT.

Lakshya sits on the edge of a chair, looking at his bicycle and the neatly folded kit kept beside it.
(Flashback) Lakshya crashes in race. The crash renders him unconscious.

INT. RECORDING STUDIO. DAY.

Abida makes a comeback into Radio Production. Plays,Everytime we touch, as a response to


a callers request.
EXT. MCRC ROOF. DAY.

Alyka writes under the open sky.

INT. ANSARI AUDITORIUM. DAY.

Fatima rehearses a performance, dances.

EXT. TRAILS BEHIND M.F. HUSSAIN ART GALLERY. DAY.

Lakshya sprints through the singletrack on his bicycle.

EXT. CASTRO CAFE LAWNS OUTSIDE M.F. HUSSAIN ART GALLERY. DAY

They meet for breakfast near the notepad. All the pages have been torn off. The hardback
reads,Theres freedom waiting for you on the breezes of the sky, and you ask me,What if I
fall? Oh, but my Darling, what if you fly?
