Introduction:
Lazaro Corpuz is a 38 years old businessman and head of a heavy machinery corporation. On Friday
afternoon, he was heading out of his office on the 6th floor of a building in downtown Manila.
Rising Action:
He went to a cocktail lounge (bar) in the hotel to drink. There he met Pete; an Attorney-at-Law and
bought him a drink. After a couple of minutes Lazaro left the bar to go home but he doesn’t have his car
so he decided to take a jeep. He did not enjoy walking 5 minutes to the jeepney stop.
Climax:
He was about to get his 25₵ coin in his pocket for his fare but there’s no coin or even a peso bill because
he had spent all the money he has. He thought of borrowing money from Pete, so he ran as fast as he
could to go back in the bar hoping that Pete would still be there but unfortunately he was not there. He
was hopeless, he doesn’t know what do, where to go and how he will be able to get home.
Falling Action:
He saw the beggar he always patronized and whom he had given 25₵ coin this morning. He approached
the beggar hoping to get 25₵ coin effortlessly, but the beggar was playing around that made Lazaro
irritated. Lazaro shouted at the beggar and threatened to rob him. The beggar was shocked and afraid,
so he allowed Lazaro to get a coin from his metal box of coins. Lazaro picked a coin and walked away
smiling without even saying anything or looking back at the beggar.
Resolution:
Finally, Lazaro can go home with the use of the money he took from the beggar.
